whats the rules of running with no front bumper? there are none, however if you took a cone smack in the middle of that intercooler it might get ugly

Yep was a good time. However it makes you really apreciate Brooksvilles road surface, even with all the cracks. I did end up getting a batter time than Ralph, ( he has the 924 ) . But it was during the fun runs so it didnt count.
Also go a ride in that supercharged Stalker.. DAM I may have to build myself one of those. That thing was scary fast.
Well at least I got my driving fix for the month.

No surprise about that ultra Icy surface at Z-hills,
So I decided to practice some basic skills.
Then I got lucky and scored an instructional run with a national champion. Sweet!
It sure is nice having Danny at these things.
He offered me a second run to try out his pointers, but unfortunately we ran out of time.
It is totally worth going to Z-Hills just to make you appreciate Brooksville.

Hankook z211 are on special. $110 a peice now in 225/45/17 however I reccomend a second set or your stock wheels for them. for Real R-compound. Once you've gone R-tire you won't be happy with a fast street tire.
Intake $200
Header $150
Suspension $700
R-Sway bar $200
F-Sway bar $200
Getting beat by a factory stock Spec-V Priceless.

Minus the F-sway bar, I still have the stock one. Don't forget you have LSD. Honestly, I dont think the R-sway bar is helping me. It's all about learning your car which I'm still in the process of. Oh btw you missed the FWD drifting session I did during the fun runs :D

I also drove like a Nuttered JackA$$ You would think the LSD was in my Bloodstream and not in my Transmission. Nice thing is you can connect and disconnect the rear bar pretty quickly and do a run back to back to see.
My main concern now is the shocks. the car is sprung well enough it just transistions like dookey. I'm thinking some koni's revalved for AX. and i'll be feeling pretty good. I was suprised I was getting very little understeer. I think my rear tire pressure was WAY too high.

We did get a decent amount of runs,
(4 in the morning, plus 30 minutes of fun runs)
But when I pay for a day of Autocross, I want a full day.
I don't like packing up and heading out at 1 or 2.
I get pissed when we start late and leave early.
If that is your mind set, to "get this over with", then stay home.
Oh, Did anyone notice that PCA and BMW both have events planned for 10-22?

I think I'm going to try the next event without the R-sway bar :dunno: I got the front set up dialed in but the rear is so stiff that if I push it too hard I get massive oversteer, hence the reason I pulled off some drift moves and then spun out like a RWD  The negative camber made a big difference too. I do need some stickier tires though, mine are done for now.

which bar do you have? most of them are adjustable, move the brackets closer together to reduce the effect of the rear bar. my no bar car was oversteering on that surface with 43psi front 38psi rear so keep that in mind as grip increases as does body lean hence the need for more roll resistance. (now my springs and rear beam are stiffer then your stock stuff was but only by 20%) what works on zeypherhills will not work on concrete. I was getting so much more cornering grip even at Z-hills my car was slamming from side to side. more then it was transisitioning. thhis is partly why even with the increased grip of the new tires I was not much faster then I usual. I could use more -camber too. the outside edges of my tires are showing the effects. and the rear tires are only worn in the middle 2/3 so I'm gonna lower pressures and try and get some Legal camber. or some bolts for when I run Non-SCCA events.

I have the Progress RSB which is not adjustable unfortunatley. What I'll do is leave the RSB on, and see how the car responds to the new Falken Azenis RT-615's I just ordered :headbang: Those Nitto Neo Gens are definitely for street use only  But I had to get my use out of them. I cant wait to get the Falken Azenis next week.

I SO TOLD YOU NOT TO RUN THE REAR BAR:haha:
i did good on the left side at zhills, such soft suspension and street Ziex tires, but on the rest i slid and sucked more
but shouldn't the swaybar keep it together untill you let off?
i thought that was the concept behind lift throttle over,
and if you get the front would it balance you out?

The Azenis should help out a lot as far as grip. Once I get em on, I'll try my next event with the RSB and just to it. Im still learning my car thought.

Not really, The rear bar is going to transistion more of the weight in any cornering to the oppisite side/end. your just going to notice it more during snap oversteer. actually he could techinaly acheive the same handling balance with springrate and damper changes. the reason for a swaybar is you can still keep a reasonable springrate for comfort and the bar will plant the oppisite end.(and a bar can be adjusted in mins. not hours). so YES changing the front bar will settle down the rear a bit. however his biggest problem is not body roll. I noticed little to no body roll on course, he might be oversprung in the rear when it gets snappy try softening up the dampers in the rear. that should allow the spring to plant better and follow the road instead of hopping over it.
actually I'm thinking that a swaybar is more a waste of weight in our cars then anything.. with an indy rear it is attached to the chassis and helps transfer weight to the front, ours just stiffens up the twist beam, which an ingenious person could do with a few beads of weld.
The worst thing you can give a driver is somthing he can change. inevitabaly it will become the settings fault and NEVER the driver. (It's human nature) That is why I like stock class.. shocks and tire pressures. that's it. nothing else to change I can concentrate on not driving like a jerk.

Hey, I did notice you actually had a decent 1.7 or so degrees of negative camber on the front of your car.. I was under the impression the camber was not adjustable on the B15 k-sports. that's one of the things that concerned me. If I went with the K-sport I'm curious if we will need roll center adjustment.

Damn you hit the nail on the haed, I do have -1.7 camber in the front. The K-Sports does allow for camber adjustment in the front. The shop I took it to to get aligned hooked my up with the right toe adjustment for autoX. I did notice a big difference afterwards. I dont plan on any other mods besides putting slotted rotters in the rear once my stock ones go bad. My goal is to learn the car and become a better driver
