After several requests....I have decided to organize another MR2 meet. You'll have plenty of time to get your car ready, fixed, get off work, etc etc.

What: "MR2 Meet" Cookout/Dyno Day/Beach Party Nite
Who: All MR2 owners/Supra owners/Toyota owners/....Anyone
When: Satuday, November 4th, 2006
Time: Starting @ 11 AM
Where: XAT Racing (4008 W. South Avenue, Tampa, FL, 33614)

So here's the deal...lots of people had ideas of doing a cookout, some wanted to dyno their cars, take pictures, and just meet people and some wanted to go to the beach area, get a hotel and go out to some bars...so- we will do a little bit of everything. It'll start at 11 AM for the cookout and Dyno time at XAT Racing and then whoever wants to can go out to the beach, get a hotel room, clean up and go out for some drinks can do that. As time goes on...we will plan what hotel and where. Any ideas or this, please email me at usfbabe1@aol.com. Also, we will need someone to cook and people to bring cookout supplies.

From Tampa Stadium (Raymond James Stadium):
Take Dale Mabry north 1/2 mile. Turn left on South Ave, which is between Stadium Toyota and Friendly Daewoo.

From Clearwater:
Take HWY 60 (Gulf-to-bay) across the Courtney Campbell Causeway into Tampa. Take the Spruce Street exit and follow to Dale Mabry. Take Dale Mabry north 1/2 mile. Turn left on South Ave, which is between Stadium Toyota and Friendly Daewoo.

From St. Pete and parts south:
Take I-275 across the Howard Franklin Bridge. Get off at the Dale Mabry North exit and go north on Dale Mabry about 2 miles. Turn left on South Ave, which is between Stadium Toyota and Friendly Daewoo.

yea super... thing is.... i have to ask for time off from work like 2 months in advance.... then i might get it... so nov 4th... kinda works for me... unless you guys wanna do something on like a monday or tuesday... in that case... name the time and place and ill b there. but otherwise.... my hands are tied.... id really like to see your 92... better yet id like to see what shes got under that hood... obviously way better then my 4th gen 86... but i want to know how much better....

Well, I guess its time to start thinking of where to stay...any ideas? Who all has any suggestions? I am thinking either the BILMAR in Treasure Island or The Holidome (Holiday Inn) in Longboat Key. I need an idea of who all is going to get rooms so that I can call the hotel and arrange for a group discount. POST to let me know if you think you are going to stay the night at the beach....

So I know I'm not in the MR2 club but I'm game. Nov 4th is Chris's bday and that sounds like something he would want to do. So you know me BBQ, Hotel, Bars......I'll be there for the whole thing. Call me later to let me know the details.

Alot of the hotels were booked at Treasure Island but I was able to find one that had 30+ rooms still avail for the night of Nov. 4th. The hotel is:

Price for that night is 2 people at $69.95 so if you guys wanna double up or get more people..you can.

From the Northeast (Tampa) Take I-275 South to 5th Avenue North (Exit #23B). Proceed straight through the stoplight at the base of the exit ramp and turn right on Central Avenue, heading west to the beach.

From the South (Sarasota, Bradenton) Go North on I-275 to Treasure Island (Exit #20), which exits from the left of I-275. Turn left at the stop sign onto 31st Street, Continue to Central Avenue, turn left heading west to the beach.

From the North (Clearwater) When traveling south on US 19, Alt. 19 or A19A, simply turn right on Central Avenue, heading west to the beach.

Call and reserve your room asap!! Tell them that you are with the "Car Meet" so that they can get you in.

ok so we got drinks covered.... we also need food and a grill...
i dont think they have them down there... and i wonder what the policy is... (gotta keep the cops happy) on outdoor grills on the beach. anyone have any thoughts? how much food do we need. what kind of food... hotdogs, hamburgers, chicken... maybe some grilled onions...

I talked to the guy and he hasnt done much motor stuff, just the exhaust, turbo timer, maybe a few other small things. Most of the work is in the body i thought around 9 or so should be a better price it does have pretty decent miles.

i dont understand why you'd want a car with body work?

that body is aweful, and when your tired of the car it's goign to be impossible to sell.

i'm thinking 7k is what he'll get for it.

and unless he installed it himself.. which i doubt... it doesnt have limited slip like the ad claims.

Not to hijack the thread still, but the 2 is definetly my number one choice right now with a 300zx or 240 in second. That car has a border front which is the body kit i wanted, going to check it out tomorrow and if its appealing to me then my first offer should be around 7 - 8, and think with the right rims and that kit it will look good. I personally really like wingless 2's.

Any way for me to tell if he really put in the LSD? Never driven a Midengined car before, maybe drive a pre 93 to compare?

Hey Jeff if you dont mind me asking how old you are, how many tickets you might have, and what you pay for insurance on your 2 and SS. I wouldnt mind having an SS I was told that insurance would be outrageous for me a 21 year old with 11 points on my license.

OK I just called the hotel to check on rooms, If you need a room You better get one NOW !!!! I was having troubles with the lady she was being kind of a prick !! You can also register for a room online and save some cash !! Just a heads up !

Seems to be a LOT of people going...i just checked some other forums and alot of people know about it ...all over FL. even someone in GA is coming.

I just spoke to XAT..Dyno is up and ready to go...grill...music...

Can some people please bring hot dogs...or buns or some stuff...I know some people are...but we need all we can get...

hey i know i said id come out but i had my car accident and totaled my celica and turns out its worse. i might have some brain damage but the neuroligists arent sure yet. so even if i could have had my celica there fixed and all polished up... i wouldnt risk driveing and blacking out at the wheel. hope everyone had a great time it sure sounds like it.
