Post Over Heating 97 Civic EX

I have a 97 civic ex that is over heating on most long trips, like if I drive some where that takes a hour or two. That's when it really starts to over heat not really on short trips. I have already changed out the thermostat and still have the same problem. So I'm thinking maybe water pump might not be working the way it should. So if anybody knows what might be the problem, I will appreciate the help. THANKS

Did you bleed the air out of the system through the small valve?-Bob

after the trip.... what is your coolant/water level at? this will eliminate the possibility of it being your water pump. unless your pump is not leaking but is worn way out.
does it change/get lower when u get back... also chack and make sure your fans kick on and off, hondas take longer than most cars to heat up all the way...so on a short trip it wouldnt have time to heat up all the way... on a long trip it does...

check the levels of coolant before and after trip... check your fans and make sure they work

Well I hope it is not your water pump, but If it is I have an oem honda water pump and timing belt that you can buy off me for cheap. I purchased a 1998 Civic Ex and changed these as a precaution, and later found out they were brand new. The seller ended up giving me the receipts that showed they were changed 2 months prior to the purchase to confirm as well. Hope that helps.
