so i took my car to the dyno cause i gave up on the breaking up above 5000 rpm level, still thinking i hadnt tuned the fuel properly. well i had it pretty darn close. and now with the fuel right break up still there. break up FTW! dyno numbers FTL! tried a different coil, dis., wires plugs, and still no change please and imput would be great. and for the curious dyno was 371hp 360ftlb breaking up peak power was at 4200 and stayed the same all the way due to break up looking for the 400 mark and a decent pull pleae help have a match and a gallon of gas ready to solve all my problems very very soon.

install the cam wrong..maybe..u could be off some what.
if u advance the timing on the engine does it still break up..my 327 did that around 6500..i advance the timing and it would go to the 7200hp.
is it carb or fuel injected..if carb do u got the fuel floats right or maybe to small of jets in the rear..??
itd help if we knew more specifics on the motor..

The motor is fine, no problems with the motor mechanicly at all, with a carb on a engine dyno the motor was fine....started having problems when we put it in the car and converted it to EFI.

have you checked the flux capacitor?
looks something like this...

might not be a timing issue, what was ur a/f? maybe the car needs bigger injectors, too big or too small of throttle body, bad mass air?, i was at the dyno when you were doing this so I know there is no vacuum leaks, oh and did you try to plug that fogger nozzle u had open? thats unmetered air, every little bit helps to make it perfect

plugged up the hole no other vacume leaks. changed maf nothin changed did try to plug the spout in and it fires sometimes and sometimes it has no spark kinda off and on it is diffinatly an electrical issue the tach both stock my aftermarket and the one on the dyno all started to jump around when it started to break up.
Sounds like an electrical grounding issue perhaps ..
I was gonna say maybe the timming is too far advanced for pump gas , but sounds like your running conservative timming ..
The car doesn't jump Load maps does it ?

no you can take the spout out and the car fires right up put it back in and it dies instantly cause you lose spark. load maps are ok i just took the tweeker off to see if that was it doesnt make a difference.

hows your coil..u running msd box and stuff?

a vacuum leak would not cause a single problem at WOT...

i am getting a new ecm to try a friend has one if this doesnt work then i am going to make my own ground to the computer to the distributor and my own wire from the spout to the ecm. this will eliminate my harness and tell me if i have a problem within it. i cant wait to get back in town to work on it. i know the problem has been gettting worse and it isnt always there. sometimes the car runs fine and 7400rpm is totally acheivable.

Wow whats up with everyones 5.0. Fordaorm's mustang was running like crap also but I think his is better now. He had to mess with this timing to get his to run right.
Sounds like you have a pos. jfwy

clean all the grounds on your block and to the chassis...make sure they are nice and new looking and have good contact.

will try that thanks deacon. checked all the wires from the tfi plug back to the computer today loss of 0 ohms so there is no shoet there next to replace computer move all grounds and if still doesnt work going to re wire my hole ignition( msdbox, retard, tach, gauges, ) all stuff that was previously wired which could be the problem to my mishap

just do the simple, cheap, less hassle things 1st. like check the grounds, check for arcing plug wires at high load/rpm, do you have a knock sensor? if ya do is it getting ghost knock or real knock at all? is your initial timing right, what about part throttle and WOT? milf maker has a point, the car can be good at part throttle but have way to much mechanical timing for what ignition timing you are adding later on. just dont dig yourself a financial hole when the fix could be something quite simple, as it usually is.
think you have 3 grounds to the block, one on the back of the engine that is strapped to the firewall, one by the starter and another toward the front just below the driverside head
