So I get off of work minding my own business as usual. Get on 9th street in St. Pete. Around Gandy Blvd. there's a red 240sx (s13) with a small aftermarket exhaust. He notices I'm behind him so he does a ricer take off to then brake a couple feet ahead. I said okay... wtf lol.

So I go ahead and get over to the right lane and just go minding my own business. Next thing I know I look back and this 240sx is trying to chase me down. So around 9th street and 83rd Ave. N. he floors it past me. I said screw it. I'll take chase. Chased him down.

Then I pass him and he tries to chase me down unfortunately he couldn't keep up, let off and he comes up next to my car with a wise ass smirk/smile. So I told him, "too slow". I guess that tickled his nerve lol. So he gets behind me on the turning lane to 62nd Ave. N. We turn and he floors it on my bumper... at this time I'm in 3rd.

I said alright. Dropped it into 2nd and I slowly started pulling away. 3rd gear I was probably about 3-4 car up. 4th gear gear around 5-6 then I just let off.

Sitting at the light to turn unto 4th street. He sticks his head out his window and starts yelling something. Still had a smirk on his face. Don't know what that was about but okay.

240sx- 0
420a Eclipse- 1

BTW, I find this hilarious because of the thread in the Video forums on TR about the close to stock 240sx. In that thread, there's a friendly argument going on between 1 240sx owner and us DSM owners. The 240sx owner is saying once his engine is done with a few bolt ons he'll race some of us DSM owners so he can prove that he's beat GS-T's, GSX's, and even some 240sx owners with SR swaps with his KA with bolt-ons. Well I raced a near to stock 240sx (s13). All I saw he had was an exhaust and he miserably lost.

unless the KA has cams, spins 10krpm, and has some serious head/intake work done, i doubt he'll squeeze 250 out of it.

I think DSM Reason has a stock 420a with intake and exhaust if I'm not mistaking.

I don't have a turbo 420a.
420a with bolts ons. In a few months I'll be spraying... 50 shot to be safe.

J Phat I wasn't talking about you or your car. I would definately lose to your car. "buck19" was the person I was refering to. Like I said its just a friendly argument.

420a's dont classify as dsm's.
I am sure there is plenty of info on it if you look it up but dsm refers to diamond star motors who only build a few non turbo first gens i believe and no n/a 2 gens. so change your name i guess.........

Believe it or not. The term DSM and the Mitsubishi/Chrylser venture ended in 1993. Some 1995's (2g's) have the DSM insignia on them. Including those with 420a's in them. Don't believe me ask "hunntyr" on here who has a 420a in his Eclipse GS and has DSM markings on his car from the factory. Technically 2g's even with the 4g63t in them shouldn't be classified under DSM's either. So the DSM line up ended during the 1g (90-94) period.

So please research your information before you comment on something you don't know nothing of. 1995's whether RS/GS (420a) or GST/GSX (4g63t) some came with the DSM insignia's. I've owned 1st gen's from the 1.8, to the 2.0 N/A (4g63) to the 2.0 Turbo (4g63t) and all 3 had the DSM symbols/markings.

1g's/2g's as a WHOLE are considered DSM's... so no need for a name change. I'll leave this argument rested here in this post because its been talked about for yrs on yrs.

 no way. They would put jet airplane lengths on me. They would not waste their time on my slow car. They could give me a 50+foot head start and they would pass me like I'm standing still.
