5k rpm rev limit

My car pegs out at 5k rpms in every gear and I was just wondering if anyone had any advice on how to fix it...I tried replacing the air filter, speed sensor, fuel filter, spark plugs. All the little stuff like that. The 5k rpm limit is really starting to bug me any help is much appreciated.

Sorry forgot to mention that its a 92 240sx Se with a KA24DE the only thing I have done to the car so far is exhaust and I want to fix this problem before I start messing with stuff.

Who are you to be telling me that I don't know shit about cars?...I might not be some kind of prodigy but last time I checked the tech forum is to ask questions like this...I also suspected it was the ecu but was asking to make sure it wasn't something else b/c I don't have an ecu to swap in and check and don't want to spend money that I don't have to if that's not the problem.

try another ecu, if that doesen't fix it try another guage cluster or just swap out the tach. i'm not sure if it's a problem with 240's, but on FC's the tach's can be off.

put a rotary in it you can rev to 8k all day
