As most of you know i recently posted about my new polk db componets and jl 300/4 amp that were being installed in my truck.Well after a few days of hard work installing those componets ,jl 300/4,under seat clarion dvd player,2 7" visor monitors, clarion cd/mp3 player, xbox, power inverter ,and 2 day old sirius sat. radio, all very nicely installed btw....i'ts all gone ...well , almost...I got done about 6:00 friday and last drove the truck at about 10:30 fri night and I was going to get in my truck at 6:00 sat. morn. and as my helper was going to open the door I yelled for him not to touch the door as i seen something wrong.I looked closer to find my visor down and 1 of the visors missing completly and the passenger door unlocked and a xbox controller on the ground...these good for nithing pieces os shit broke into my truck and stole 2 tv's my dvd player, xbox, head unit, approx 80 dvd's in a case,3 xbox games and a digi cam that was my companys. All 1 day before tint and alarm was to be done(was having it done after work)So i'm insanely pissed but on the bright side i got everything at cost ( I used to install at a local shop), They left my new sat. radio (minus remote ) and the dumb fucks left the componets and the jl amp under the back seat.May these fuckers rot in hell..karma's a bitch..oh i live in an apartment comp. and will be moving in to my new house in lakeland in a few weeks.../rant...thanks for letting me vent

you might want to lock the door next time. Sucks about the theft tho, keep an eye on the fs forums - might show up with a phone number/address and you can deliver some capital justice.

looks like they probably targeted it because it was a new truck then. Any change your insurance is gonna cover it?

Where exactly did this happen? Maybe folks on here who live in your area can keep an eye/ear out for your type of stuff.

On a side note, I'm willing to bet it's someone you know, or atleast someone who knew what you were doing (ie, a neighbor, friend, employee at the shop you bought everything from, etc.).

I live in the westchase area and have had all of the stuff for a while exept for the comps and jl amp which i still have...the other stuff including tv's was in my lexus for about 2-3 mos. in the same lot...we have a lot of out of town contractors renting here for long term work...only 1 person came up to me and could have known that everything was under the seat...he is the 1st suspect but we will see...btw...i never came into the apts with the tv's on or music loud.

and as most of you know...i could care less about ever getting this stuff back , it can be purchased agian...it is the point of some peice of shit coming into something of mine and destroying all my hard work...it is a real shitty feeling...

That would be quite a coincidence or require some serious investigative work. I've been on this forum for a few years now and have yet to hear of that happening.

:o dont say that in GCC. From what I've read in the past year, there have been dozens car thefts allegedly based solely on people found on TR, followed home from a meet, and car was stolen shortly thereafter.

Its not too far fetched but I'm sure that half of them are paranoia. But on the other hand, If I was a bt more evil and had a few willing friends I could chill in AHQ with a shopping list, wait until the monthly meet and be set till the next month. Another reason I am aprehensive to moving outside of the 'family' when it comes to the ahq meets.

 that had to be one shitty alarm if not only did it let them steal everything in the car but also unwire and remove the alarm itself

tell me, was it Pyle brand?

Actually it was a compustar, they didn't unwire it they just stole the brain which means the people that broke in my truck knew where it was, which means they worked on it before. neighbors said my alarm was going off for like 3 min. No one even bothered looking out there window at my truck which sucks

It's really not all that hard to get past an alarm. I use to see it quite often actually. The most effective way of preventing theft I've found, by far, is a stealthy install. If they can't see it, can't get to it, and/or don't know it's there they're most likely not going to attempt to break in in the first place.

thats is why i always suggest a pager or 2 way remote to tell you when your alarm is going off - and horn honk is a must - really hard to sleep with a horn going off non-stop

Oh noes, I just installed a compustar 2way system in Dans car :-o

Let us pray that he hears the alarm going off and brings his baseball bat to yield before they figure out how to pull the alarm.

Yes yes Ive always found it extremely satisfying to use several roles of masing tape as well. Not only is future maitenence near impossible, I doubt even I would recognize the wiring. I also dont prewrap any of the wires (besides the siren) so then when I install it I can bundle door locks with the ignition or whatever wires happen to be near eachother easier.

This ground-breaking 900MHz Spread Spectrum 50-Channel frequency changing technology was developed by Firstech after spending thousands of hours perfecting the art of radio signal modulation and applying it to vehicle security and remote starts. yeh i have that one except no remote start, i dont really need it. Although window roll down would be really nice...

The range is actually pretty decent. I went about ... hm 1/8th of a mile i guess away from a walmart dalton was in and behind an amscot, he was inside and i think up to the vegetable isle in the super walmart and i think thats the range it died at.

Not too bad.

I cant sleep through anything, i barely sleep at all. Plus i have it on vibrate, attached to me about 20/7 and if not stuck to me its really fkn close to me.

=D.
