just purchased a 89' coupe with a redtop swap, its super clean and runs like achamp but it is grinding goin into 2nd gear and on some occasions it just dose not feel like the clutch is completly engaging. the last owner said he just put the sr stock clutch in. just wondering if anyone has heard of this or if its a common thing. appreciate any help

First things first, check the slave and make sure its engaging, check your pedal make sure its adjusted.
Replace parts as necessary, make sure to bleed real good.
Secondly, I would replace the stock clutch as more then likely you are going to add to this car and the stock clutch is poo after 250-270 HP.
Last but not least, could be the 2nd gear synchro... If thats the case, replace or rebuild.
Good luck, its hard to diagnose on the internet but those are relatively common problems...

Ya I reccomend bleeding the clutch with another person so you know it's done right, then I would go ahead and replace the tranny fluid. You also may want to replace all of the fluids in the car, you dont know how long it's been since the guy before you had done any of that. GL with the new car ^.^

check the fluid level as it may be low. also, try double clutching.

Yeah sorry for the late reponse, but way back when I had my Integra the GM shit was all the hype. I tryed it and it ran nice for about 3months max, and when it started grinding again, my 2nd AND 3rd took a shit (before it was just second scratching) So I was pulling the ricer 1st- mmmmmBAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH (winding out vtak till 8200), then 4th-buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh

if its having problems in most gears, then it might be clutch/hydroloic related. if its just in 2nd, its probably a bad tranny. 2nd gear is generally the 1st one to go.
