We use mainly dupont, but we can cater to whatever brand paint you would like to use on your vehicle. we vary on the dupont line depends on the budget of the customer. our typical paint job utilize dupont chromabase and chromaclear, for customers who are willing to spend a little bit more, we will use chroma premier paint and clear. but we are not limited to those paints, infact we are looking into BASF and their daimont line for the higher end paint jobs

The color on my car is just a custom color, most of the effect are within the clear cost/pearl. To get that effect, it will not be cheap, we used an entire gallon of clear on my car and the clear was $700 a gallon. We CAN do it though!

We can get any color out there. its just as of now we have the 2006 color book. as far as the paint code you gave me.."EBP" isn't a correct color code for honda. hondas code will be in the drivers side door jam and it will say color then a code.. for example B92P which would be a nighthawk blue. We also would need the entire vin code becuase the paint system we use includes a thing called Vinicator. it only works for 98 and up cars. which once entered into the computer will give us the exact paint formula used at the factory. this only works with chromabase and chromapriemer mixed colors. the cheaper the line of paint the use of vin numbers don't work. get us the correct color code we will be able help you out a little better. also any pictures of damage to the car. thanks again and hope to hear back soon.

Ok the story on Ians coupe. the paint we used was Chromapriemer. it was a tri-coat system. there actually isn't any flake at all in the color. which after looking at the car is hard to believe. to explain a little bit about the paint system. In the case of the "COUPE" there was 4 coats of based layed over it first. between each coat it is tack then wet sanded where ever needed to have a smooth surface for the next layer then tacked again. after that you apply what is called a mid coat. which it a basically a clear type coating of paint. its transparent kind of like a candy but no pigment. the orginal mix has .8 grams of a blue pearl and 1.0 gram gold pearl. We then uped the Blue Pearl to 128 grams. thus giving the effect that the car has. it is actually quite expensive for just the pearl. 4 more coats where applied. between each coat the car is again tacked and smoothed where ever needed then tacked again between coats. Then the clear is applied. Ian is correct, there is more than a gallon of clear over the entire car. Putting the clear itself at probably 5 to 8 mils in depth. ( considering there is about 4 to 5 mils total from a factory paint job including color and clear< thats alot) again we used the ChromaPriemer clear. which is a three part clear..instead of the standard two part production clear that many use. the amount of clear isn't really normal but with this car going to be what it is evenually going to be the extra protection and knowing that if any scratches come about it will be easy to wet sand and buff them out, just in case... the car has a deep wet look to it. after the car is completed it will recieve another wetsanding and buff to freshen it up a bit and remove anything that might have happened while sitting in the shop. so any other questions please feel free to contact us at the shop
Thanks again

the vin number is 1HGEM1154YL069988.. ill check the piant code tomorro. I want to keep it the same, Electron Blue Pearl, and make it good. How much would it be? would it be easier for me to strip it here and tow it to ur shop or would that matter? i just need the outer redone and outside the trunk area. also do you all do bonding of body panels or not? looking for an idea b/c there is like nobody that i have heard good around here but u guys. thanks

Ok by looking at your vin it would be B95P-L. but still get me the color code to be on the safe side. we do, do panel bonding of kits and stuff like that. more of qa molded in look if custmors prefer. as far as taking everything out of it...are you talking about the motor as well? the best thing is for you to come down to the shop so we can take a look at it more closely. I am sure you have read Ians sticky on paint prices, so you have an idea what the cost will be. thanks again

when ur painting your cars do u take it down to the metal then paint? would like to know your process. ive talked to cway few times from 7thgencivic.com and here about you guys painting my car. currently its imola orange pearl from the nsx. ill prolly just have it the same color, just do a fresh coat ya know. the guy who painted it didnt take it to the metal and around the pillars on the outside in the cracks near the weather stripping u can see silver cuz my car was silver before. thanks =)
just bring it by the shop and let us give you a quote
most customers are not willing to pay to strip the car down the metal, but we can definitly do that like the gs300 we have here.
xiwei said bring it by!

A typical paint job does NOT require for the original paint to be completely sanded down. For a COMPLETE paint job, 100% of the car's surface will have to be touched, but do not need to be sanded down to the bare metal. Both of our painter are professionally trained and work for LARGE corporate companies.
From your previous response, where you explained the original paint being exposed around the weather stripping. Depending on where you go and also depending on the customer, there are a couple of explanation for it.
#1, the normal procedure from any paint shop is to tape and paint, depending on the experience and also carefulness, the car can turn out looking stock. But if the painter is not experienced enough, it will come out looking pretty bad.
#2, when people out there are talking about $4000 for a paint job, you are paying for the amount of labor that goes into taking all the weather stipping off and doing it the right way. When you get into jobs such as this, you are talking almost double the price.
But as mentioned above, bring it by the shop and we can take a look what will be the best for you.
Thanks.
im not talkin stripping it to the shell, im talking the paint itself. do u strip the paint down to the metal then start to apply the new paint, etc
