I'm looking to get a lot more power out of my Northstar. Does anybody know somebody that works on these motors?

is this a northstar forum? no...so unless someone had a northstar, they almost positively wont know what your talking about. i had to go look into your profile to figure out you drove a cadillac.

and to answer your original question, i dont know anyone who works on them anymore because no one wants to touch them.

Why not? It's an great motor. Puts out more power than displacement stock.

Northstars have been put into different chassis. Its a great motor.
4.6 liter DOHC just like the cobra motor....but much smaller package.
I think even Shelby used them for the first version of the SC-1

My ballpoint pen stopped working one time right out of the box, all ballpoint pens are shit.

LOL his blew a piston? Did he take care of his car? I been on the Cadillac Forums for a year almost and never once heard of that. Most these engines will out-last 4 cylinders and LT1s.

yeah...I think thats right. I knew it was an oddball Gm motor.

I still think the northstar is a good motor though. Seen several people put them in different cars and turbo them and make ~500 rwhp no sweat.

They are just stuck in a shitty FWD grandpa car for the most part. Didnt caddy use them for their le mans cars too?

Care to come race your Mustang against my shitty grandpa car? Don't bother unless it's a modded up GT or better.

BTW, did he keep the car? Sevilles have alot of problems between 90000 and 100000 with the front suspension.

other than the oil leak from the half block, it's tendency to pull the head bolt threads out of the block and lower main bearings. it is a pretty nicely built engine. the oil leak would not be so bad except in all the caddies you need to r+r the trans to remove the oil pan etc. nos i would be worried about cyl pressure and the weak head bolt areas...
