Hi-Vi mid?
I am experimenting with some Aura 2" in one of my rides... Too ineficient, & lacks a bit of detail with no EQ. Wont play much below 300-400hz when you factor in road noise.
I do like the Hi-VI B3S 3.5's, & I may use those instead of the Auras. Those do a very good job to 200hz.

Only someone that knows Dayton would know these...good call
Yep, they are Hi-Vi 2" mids. I got them pretty cheap, and they look really cool. What I'd actually like to find is the little driver that everyone is using in these ipod music stations...looks alot like the little hi-vi, but with a rubber surround.
The experiment? Well, for now I'm just going to put 8 of them in for rear surround speakers in my Lex. They do have kind of lousy efficiency (one reason I'm using 4 per side), and they get a little lost down below about 150 hz, but they are just for the rear surround, so they should be fine.
check it out, at the next meet, which is...next Saturday.
My other thought was a wall of about 120 of them...might not get low, but I could probably take your head off with a 150hz burp :D

I say build a headliner completley full of those things. Wonder how that would sound.
