Im faced w/ teh same old prob that every 240 owner has. Getting clipped at 116 mph. Whats teh best or easiest way to stop that 5k rev limit. I have done teh un plugging of the 2nd and 3rd sensor on teh tranny and a toggle swith on teh speed sensor its self. How ever when i do this it doesnt show speed. Nore does it roll the miles over on teh odometer...

Any input would be great.

My first piece of advice would be to stop using "teh" instead of the. Second, speed is limited by the ECU. Get your ECU chipped, and voila, no more cut-out....

Yeha i have read about that but a bill could definatly be spent some where else... I might just have to wait and biuld the motor up. kinda leanig towards mega squirt when the time comes.

on a side note its teh fucking internet. theres better things to worry about... like real life issues... I dont see spelling being one of them...

Chipping the ECU, or adding some form of piggy-back FMU system is the only way...I am about 99.9% positive of that.

And it isn't that the spelling of it annoys me, it's trying to read the sentence and put the in place of "teh".

That is a form of a piggy-back ecu system that will disable the speed limiter. That would work, but for around the same price, you can juts chip your ECU. Either way, it's up to you on what route you take.

And I haven't ever heard anything about the Auto ECU, and I don't know how well that would work with your car being a manual.

Auto ecu does away with the rev limiter, good or bad is up to you and how often you spend around 6k....

Find a auto ecu and switch it. be careful, noob drifting with auto ecu not recommended, but We will defenitly buy your parts car {*_*}

dont do this......having no limiter and drifting sucks unless you have enough awareness to shift while sliding

however my ka has yet to go boom from goin past redline........

Yes. I'm on number 2. Thanks.

And that is just one way to remove speed limiter. Stop trying to be such a know-it-all hard-ass all the time.

jesus christ. use the fucking google.com bullshit

heres the deal

unplug sensors on tranny
leave speed sensor plugged in
cut ylw/grn wire at ecu

yeah i know that you disco teh 3rd and 4th plug on the trans. then you throw a toggle w switch on teh vehicle speed sensor wire. but when flip i have read it your speedo adn odometer doesnt work. hence the reason why i havnt done so.

uhm you must smoke drugs if you cant read and follow what durdan just said.. unplug everything except the vehicle speed sensor..and if you dont know wich one that is buy a freakin manual or find the fsm online. then undo the negative battery terminal
locate ecu in passenger footwell
cut the wire that is yellow with the green tracer that is the speed imput for the ecu .. it comes from the gauge cluster

and bam no speed limit and working cluster instruments

if you cant figure this out shoot yourself in the face with a small caliber weapon that will just render you retarded instead of dead

first and foremost, theres no reason to be a twat waffle.^^^ the only reason i event posted that shit was because of the things i have read on other forums. vehicle speed cut / nico.com (http://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread?id=133834)

the self proclaimed - ultimate 240 bible (http://www.240sxforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=85222) < Some interesting info in there
But since then I have got to the point of i don't care about going that fast in straight lines. So this thread since then has became useless. Durdan thanks for the info when i was looking for it. But point was made sometime ago. theres no need for me to be going that damn fast on the highways. specially this time of year. well any time of year.
