me vs. modded cobra

cobra supercharged w/ 13lb. pulley, tune, exhaust....against the saturn

well i was on the way back from the photo shoot in safety harbor and i run into a red cobra on courtney campbell and i havent had many good runs in a while so i was extremely anxious since i have never raced a supercharged cobra, so i pull up next to him and he starts slowing down...

1st run 30 roll- he motions me forward and i hit it and start spinning and he pulls even i hit third and he pulls a fender and then by the end of 4th about 110 we were door to door

2nd run 30 roll again- he motions me again so he hits it as soon as i do and i hook this time and pull a car and hold through top of 3rd then i let out do to traffic

3rd run...another 30 roll- once again he gives me the hit and this time it hicups at the top of 2nd and he pulls a 1/2 car to car then i throw it in 3rd and start slowly reeling him in and let out in high 3rd due to traffic but even if i had stayed in it through 4th i dont think i wouldve caught/passed him because i was slowly pulling back

but they were damn good runs and i was very happy to see how good the car did, the guy was cool as hell we exchanged thumbs up and his girl even gave me thumbs up, so good night very fun runs

How much boost you running?

i have high boost at 11lbs (its not very high but its all she can handle :lol: ) and low at 8lbs

Damn that thing moves for that little bit of boost...I had mine on 8 and it felt like it wasnt even turboed:lol:..But your motor is a lot more effecint than mine so it proablly makes decent power on that amount of boost.

i didnt think that would do that much for them but i dont know, but yah i trap 105 at the track and my car is alot better from a roll than a dig too because i have major traction issues, but 2gnttalon and some other tr guys were behind when we raced so they saw all the runs

I'm not trying to be an ass, or even doubt you, but you trap 105? And you beat or hung with a modded car that bone stock traps 110+? Something just doesn't add up. I realize that cars run different things at the track, but when you run from a roll, all that matters is trap speed. It sounds like you have a stout little car though.

A 13.2 srt on drag radials pulled a car on jdk's old bolt on Cobra (BEFORE he tt'ed it and i was passenger in the Cobra) till about 110.Shit happens good runs.

From a dig, sure, but from a roll there is no way a semi competent driver in a Terminator Cobra loses to a 13.2 SRT4 from a roll.

I'm not saying I don't believe he won, what I'm having a hard time believing is that he beat an '03-'04 Cobra. I'm thinking it was a '99 or '01. They look pretty much the same. My car only traps 108 and I can get out in front of stock '03-'04's, but as soon as they hook up, they blow by me like I'm standing still.

If you heard the Eaton then I believe you. It's just hard to believe that a 105 mph car can beat a 110+ mph car from a roll. But you said the guy was big and his girl was big and maybe he was bullshitting about his mods. Maybe we'll run into each other some time, it might be a good run. Good kill.
