Out in the boonies tonight there was a Harlequin CRX...
From what dude told me:
Stock 1.5 bottom end
Fully built dual cam head (larger valves, valve grind, stage III Crower cams)
Intake, header, and full exhaust
40/45 roll to 105/110, me up by a fender.
We stopped and chatted for a bit, and made sure we both had clean runs. Dude was cool, I forget whether he is on here or not. There were a few chaser cars behind us.

I know very lil' about Honda motors, I just regurgitated what he told me. He said the Crower Stage III cams were 276* Intake and 285* Exhaust, so I just assumed there were two. :dunno:

the only way to put a DOHC head on a SOHC block is to use the ZC head wich is pointless, and i dont think crower makes cams for the ZC DOHC...and i dont know much about the SOHC cams crower makes...

Well shit, I have no idea. One other thing he said was he had a 9500 rpm redline. So who knows?

SOHC vtec if built with valvetrain and stuff will go to 9500.....i was taking my GSR to 9600 for a lil while but then had the ECU reprogrammed for 9000rev limit

I was talking to someone else tonight who said it has an LS in it. There are 276/272 Crower stage 3 cams for that. If so that makes me feel a lil' better, but I'll see what's up with dude next Wed.

Thanks guys, but today my CV's started acting up. Right now 1st and 2nd are pretty tempermental. I might be able to eek out a couple 3rd-5th runs. A friend of a friend wants to run me with his "stockish" TC. I said sure if he buys me a new driver's side axle when I beat him. We'll see what happens :dunno:

im not sure what you have done, but if that crx has an ls with a built head, its going to be deep into the 14's even with a bad driver. if your running a stock 16v and you won by a fender then its a 1.5l sohc.
im in no way knocking your car, but i had a 16v scirocco with i/h/e and my ls swapped civic is way faster.

I never said I'm stock. I'm using factory parts, but not necessarily 9A parts. ;)

Out of curiousity, how do you put an intake on a scirocco? You'd have to switch to digi or some stand-alone. Because there's that nasty fuel distributor sitting on top of the airbox, plus you only had the 1.8 in the scirocco unless you bumped up to a 3A/9A/ABA block.

pm me your setup if its not top secret. im very interested. i loved my scirocco, but back in 93-94 i could only get it to be reasonably quick.
