so i was trying to adjust my amp today because its just not right my 200 dollar ks speakers sound better then my 700 dollar ones  well they give you "amp 1, and amp 2" for adjustment, i want it hooked up so amp 1 has my fronts, 2 has my rear's.. so i unhook the rears for the moment so i can hook up the fronts together, i start adjusting and they sound great, so i hook in the rear and just turn the fader to rear... but that made one of the fronts turn off, but not the othere... so then i turned it to front, and same deal but the other speaker... so i started moving around the rca's on the amp.. and when i unhook all 4, and then just touch one in, it seems no matter which of the 4 things i hook it to, its either left rear or right rear, no fronts.. so i grab the other 3 and one by one touch them in and i get the same thing. basically i cant get the fader right, which SUCKS because it sounds like ass.

The alpine 4 channel amps have a switch under the trim panel that selects the input points - either 2,3 or all 4 input RCAs will be recognized. Also you might want to grab someone with a logic probe or a tone generator and have them pop your speakers to make sure they are connected in pairs.

There are so many factors its almost impossible to diagnose on the info you've given
actually tho, this is reminicent of a time I had a really old amp that had no signal separation. what model amp/headunit are you using.
Are you using the summed output? are there any phantom Y-spliters that might be fucking up the signal?

im seriusly lookin at a wiring issue man. Get ahold of a tone generator and make sure you have the speakers wired in pairs to the amp.
Eg, I think you might have one front and one rear on the same group.

then im back to the mode switch - sounds like its set to 3 channel instead of four.
Bah, bring it to the meet. 10 car audio geeks will without a doubt be able to solve the problemo.
