So i went on to the Nasa-X website and calculated what class my car should be in...

i came out with 32 modification points...and as is my car i belive should be in class F bone stock.

i drive a 1996 200sx SE-R.

now where the question comes in...with the 32 points if im not mistaken that moves me up to class D...correct?

no as well i have a swapped motor...so it said something about an engine donor class or something to that effect...whats that about?

please help!

Basically, if your engine came from, for example, a Corvette, you'd use the Vette's class as your starting class. If your car starts in F, but the engine donor car's class is E, you'd start in E then add your 32 mod points.

In my terms: I have a WRX (starting class E). If I swapped an STi engine into my car, I would have to start at class C (starting class for STis) then add my mod points onto that.

I am guessing you swapped in a SR20. Jeremy has a SR20 swapped 240sx. I don't remember now what class he is supposed to start in, but he is now in C. I think maybe it was E? Since the SR20 is not installed on any car on the list, he had to consult with Bill Flowers regarding classing. Maybe Jeremy will chime in here.

Yup, probably start in class E and tack on all of your mod points from there. Assuming you swapped to the GTI-R SR there obviously isn't a car on the list with that "donor engine". Exhaust, boost controllers etc etc would be tacked on seperate from the "donor engine bump"

Not sure on your autoX experience, but you'd go into Novice for your first few events regardless if you are new.

That might be the way to go about it. Reg as a novice for your first NASA-X event, and talk to Bill while there (if he's there). It might help to look up the power/weight ratio for the donor GTi-R, which can help in a class determination.
