FYI, NASA is the core club behind the local NASA-X autocross program. Your NASA membership entitles you to the member entry fee at all of our events. We're just one big happy family!

The only reason I don't do NASA track events is that my car is because I don't want to modify my car to meet their safety specs. (my roll bar and harness aren't up to their standards)

That looks great. So are these events HPDE track day kind of things? Or are full on road races, or both?
I'd love to get out to Sebring again. I've only done it once. It was great...best time I've ever had driving a car! It was nice to get my car up to the level of performance it was designed for. I just skim the surface at autocross events. Very cool...I'm so gonna look into this, thanks for the posting! What is the fee ontop of membership to participate at Moroso or Sebring, etc?

it is actually BOTH! So WE can race the HPDE event, and then we get to watch the HONDA CHALLENGE! I still have yet to find out how much it costs to drive the hpde event, the registration opens july 19th, so I guess well find out then. I am most likely attending both events along with another friend of mine, you should tag along!

BTW: There are other cars on the track besides hondas, during the honda challenge. Its just a series mixed in with the rest of the racers.

i might, i'd love to see it, my axle is all fuxored and for some reason doesn't want to stay in and on my way to a party it just died so i had to get it towed, it sounds like a fuel problem but i didn't feel like screwing with it in the middle of 301, so for right now the cost of those 2 repairs plus this goddamn ticket i got, i don't know where my situation is with my car

This looks like a lot of fun. I'm pretty sure you have to be a NASA member to run the HPDE. Membership is $40, but I don't know if you'll be able to join @ the event.

HPDE details (http://www.drivenasafl.com/content/section/4/44/)

Any idea where the details will be posted on the 19th?

If you're planning to run HPDE events, a $40 annual membership is the least of your financial concerns. Entry fees are generally in the vicinity of $300. Then there's gas to get there (not to mention the two tanks or more that you'll burn on the track), tires, brakepads, groceries... it all adds up. I figure my last day at Sebring cost me about $500. It was worth every penny... but just wanted to be sure everyone realizes that it's NOT a cheap way to spend a day.

And it's not like an autocross. You don't just show up and expect to run. Go through their pre-registration process, read everything on the website, follow all of the instructions. Nothing difficult about it... but it's a MUCH more serious game than autocross.

(sorry, I'm a NASA member, but I've never done a NASA track event... my car doesn't meet their safety requirements... insufficient rollbar and harness, so I can't answer a lot of NASA specific questions)
