Now that i've lured you in with the dumbest possible thread title, i was wondering.

is there any way to swap the cruise control buttons for one of those that control your H.U.?

=D

thanks

if you're wondering, my cruise control never worked and i bet it costs too much to replace it

you can swap the buttons out with any button you like. Wiring them and being ably to correctly control the unit while you drive is a different story.

you might also wanna check the original buttons to make sure there are no resistors or binary encoders(a little black ship next to several resistors)

I think you should get a prize for perhaps the first thread title that binary Dalton can't find fault with...:-)

In theroy you could buy a duplicate remote for your head unit, assuming you have one. Take apart your cruise buttons module in your wheel, extend the remote buttons to the cruise location, fashion a plate to mount them there, and then put the IR transmitter behind the wheel facing the HU.

Anything is possible...but the time and headache it be to pull it off probably wouldn't be worth it. Unless ofcourse you're someone like Dalton who has all the time in the world to make your own neon lights, 20 sub boxes, LED fog lights, neon tail pipes, solder every possible wire connection, etc etc etc. ;)
