I've heard there's a film or something that you can put over you're glass (not tint lol) that keeps it from cracking during extreme loud subwoofers ,,, i've already had my rearview mirror fall off lol,,, and my subwoofers weren't anything over the top ,,,, thinking about going over the top soon ,, , need to know precationary measures to keep car from falling apart. Heard to many stories about ,, subs dislodging fuel pumps and shit,, cracking glass etc.. Maybe even dynamat will help???

only if you drive a 10 year old honda.
Roll your windows down.
*** EDIT *** O crap its you, disregard the previous statement, it makes too much sense for you to follow...
You need to get some flux magetizer bars from quantum base one - these will control the magnetic field within your vehicle the same say the shields on the enterprise are controlled allowing you to effectively limit the mean air pressure beared against the tinsel stress points of your windows.

Ok Samakaballer, im going to be perfectly honest with you and im not going to make fun of you or anything
You arent going to be making any sort of bass that is going to make cracks in your windows so i really wouldnt worry about it, reason being you'd have to really be making serious bass with HIGH quality components and a lot of power.
I'm gong to reckon your mirror was already loose and getting ready to fall off. In all my vehicles I've had the mirror fall off once.
And that time I didnt even have any subs in

My mirror is sturdy and the most it ever does is point at the ground when i turn it up loud. It has never fallen off. I've never even seen someone's fall off before, usually they build those things well

If your system is to the point where your windows crack, I seriously doubt you'll be able to sit inside.

Most are just glued onto your windshield. I've seen mirrors fall off many times, but as Jesse said, it's usually in an older vehicle where the mirror was already on it's way down.

i had my 2 15s fireing straight up 1 inch away from my hatch glass. it takes alot to crack a window. has anyne here ever cracked a window with there subs? i know we have all lost the rearview mirror. olny time ive seen subs blow a windo is on thos crazy astro vans with 25+ subs. anyway the olny thing i can think of that is that hurricane window film. but that just keeps all the little peices from goin anywhere, it will not prevent the glasss from breaking

I know a guy whoe blew out his front window and has broke the bolt that holds the steering wheel on. He also has 12 10" Solo Baric Specials (The old solo x for anyone who is lost here) with something like 12000 watts and yes 12000 is not a typo. I also seen a truck with 2 18" Solo X's in it and it never broke the window so yea doubt you'll have to worry about your system doing much.

btw all cars have vents(usually in the trunk behing the bumper cover) these are designed to relieve pressure from inside the car caused by shutting the door. you can usually find them in the door jambs too. it would be damn near imposible to build enough pressure inside your car to crack you window witout welding thos shut.

Improbable, but not impossible. I've seen it happen.
Also, I actually cracked the windshield in my 88 blazer with 2 18's back in the day. Before the fight starts, I'm sure it was a fluke. My guess is that it wasn't glued in right from the factory, since one corner seemed to move more, and leaked. My theory is that with one loose corner, it flexed funny, and cracked.
But I've seen windows shatter, and windshields blow out. But Like John said, you wouldn't have been able to sit in them when it happened.

Guess I should have rephrased that...I wouldn't want to sit in it. I like my hearing, even though its not what it used to be.

I agree. What would be the point of putting yourself through that to go deaf and lose the ability to listen to the stuff you love!?

i've broken a window once, CRX w/ 2 15" CV Strokers (YEARS AGO!)...rattled the bolts loose on the window track i guess and it fell into the door and broke.

I Dont Consider Rattling Bolts Loose, Window Not Glued Tight Or Anything Like That Causing The Window To Break A Big Deal, Let Me Hear About A Good Condition Auto With A Damn Loud System That Flexes The Glass To The Braking Point, Now That Is Impressive, Havent Seen It Yet In My Days, And I Have Been Doing This Since Most Of You Were In Diapers, Yea I Have Seen The Seems Blown Out Then The Glass Bounce Across The Hood And On The Ground, But Never A Window Explode Like Rock Has Been Tossed Thru It....

I vaguely remember one of those 'Monster Nation' shows (where Jessie James goes around the country, looking for unusual things) that went to a USACI, or similar, event. There was a van that litterally blew the window out, in like a zillion pieces. Could have been staged though, who knows.
On the topic of loud audio feats...At CES last year, Mike Jones had his then world record Crossfire van there. He put one of those annoying little Fusion aliens inside, and burped it. Looked like green vinyl cole slaw when it was over.

The guy I was talking about with the 12 10" Solobaric Specials blew out his window while driving on the road. Not too sure when he broke his steering wheel bolt but I think it was at a competition. He always sat in the car running DB tests over 160 but just recently I heard that he got a CD player installed in the trunk due to the fact that the system was making his skip.

samakakakak , what kind of car do you own? The only thing my sub does is make the rear hatch window dance back and forth (hatch window in the rear of the explorer is clamped in the middle and not the outsides, so it shakes back and forth) I seriously doubt you have anything to worry about unless your dropping a few g's on a system
