So I was at BlockBuster yesterday, looking for something to rent, and I just happened to glance down and see an 'Initial D' box. At first thought, I was like...damn 'Tokyo Pop' (I've had the original series for about 5 years now...pre- Tokyo-Pop). Well, at closer inspection...this wasn't the cartoon...but rather the live action maovie shot last year. I was like...'Score!'.

So I got home, and my son and I sat down and watched it (he'll be 3 in 2 weeks). After that, we went to bed. This morning, as soon as he woke up...his first words were 'I wanna see racing movie'. Cool...nothing out of the ordinary...he always likes to see car and truck shows on TV.

So we are chilling, watching the R32 go through the hills when Takumi first comes up behind him...my son screams out "The '86, the '86". I looked in amazement, thinking I heard something wrong...but nope, he was calling the car an '86. Too cool. Everytime he saw the AE86, he'd point and say it. Apparently, AE86 now trumps Herbie.

Guess I need to buy the Tokyo Pop version for him..since he can't read sub-titles and all.

And for all you ID haters...give it up...you've watched it too.

We had to push Casey's son's drift go-kart out of the shop the other day. I took a pic of it sitting next to the Bandit.

Like father like son is awesome

OMG I thought that my son was the only one that did that. After watching
INITIAL D the cartoon over a year ago he did the same thing. He would call the corolla an 86 and everytime we would go to any store he would look for an 86 hot wheel or something. He would call my corolla a 86 and when i sold it he was pissed because he wanted me to keep the car. After watching him distroy his cars, I have second thoughts about getting him the car he wants in the future. By the time my son is able to drive at a legal age I will get him a POS car and he has to learn how to take care of it. If he doesnt learn that he will not get the car he wants.
