June 3 & 4 SCCA Sebring Double Points Weekend
Anyone going?
I have a hotel room reserved because it will be cheaper than my gas mileage and sleeping in is kind of nice.

Thanks for the Post Chi Town.
I had not heard about the event. It looks like a good one.
Unfortunately (or fortunately), I''ll be in PA for the All Ford Nationals.

Really??? I have seen some loud cars out there, despite what they say on their website about noise. I even ran my 88 supra, which only has a resonator, out there with no problems. :mullet:

they started cracking down on it the past couple months. There have been cars banned that are no where near as loud as mine. They actually set-up a small booth wiht a db meter.

damn neighborhoods being developed next to a runway.
i ran the sebring event twice & it sucked both times, they'd (eastcoast) much rather do 3 runs & be done at 2pm than try to do more runs. for a drive that far, i'd much rather go to ft myers where the course will probably be better & you'll get more runs! with that said i'll be at neither

if you were out there January then you know how loud my car is....lol I havent been out there since National Tour, and I think that is when the whole sound thing really got started.

Never been to Sebring, but I've been screwed out of attending every event since Jan. It could be in the panhandle and cost $80 to register and I'd still be there. (fingers crossed)

For those concerned about the Sebring event, past experience is not an indicator of future performace. There has been a change in leadership this year in our SCCA region. As such, there's reason to believe that this year will be a different experience.
I won't make the first day, my daughter is having a piano recital, I hope to be there for day 2.
I am thinking about going Sunday. I want to check out a one-way autocross.

No mention of pre-reg in the flyer. Is the usual myautoevents.com process not being used for this event?
No, just show up. We only use myautoevents for Brooksville.

And even that process is being phased out in favor of the pre-registration link on cfrsolo2.com.

All in all a pretty good event. Sure, only 4 runs but saturday I think I had about 5 or 6 funruns in varous cars. Also I dont know if Albert P posts on this forum but he had some smoking fast runs for running on 615s with NO tread. Definitely a strong showing against the R compound guys of ES that showed up. Dont know if any of you made it out but I thought the courses had a good flow (ignore my 3 O/C runs sunday :nerd: )and with a group of only 60 everything went fairly smooth. I was glad it stayed dry.

oh, and the results are up already

A lot of great drivers competed. Sorry I missed the show. It looks like less than a quarter of the drivers there were from the CFR West. I hate that I missed it, but I just had too much going on last week after selling my house / moving, etc.
* Brian got smoked by 2 seconds in his kart!
* Gary Meredith (DS) nipped Danny Shields (BS) !?!?!
* Elliot Harvey and David Mcilvanie threw down the guantlet with those times!
* I see a couple of drivers who are bringing it on lately .. Mike Van Oepel in the SRT4 and Jason Huepenbecker in the Mustang GT.

saturday was just an off day for me , i couldn't get my head to register the course until my final fun run . running on 3 hours of sleep sux.
sunday was better for me , realized that wide gates were really pointer kones , found the line then tried to push it and found that the back end of my car is  to be stiffened up which is all good with me cuz that means upgrades :)
i know i could have run better but i wanted to test how fast i could make my decisions and see what my car would do with it . it's all learning
over all i enjoyed the courses , only had 1 mishap that i wasn't happy with but in the grand scheme of things it really didn't matter so i blew up and let go cuz that is what Italains do :lmao:
looking forward to Brooksville this Sunday
i really enjoyed the fact that i was able to attend an event that i have wanted to attend.
