Default Crossover Capacitor

Anybody know what size/type of a capactior I should use to remove bass from speakers? these are like 4 inchers and I don't want them trying to put out bass.

what impedance, what db/octave, and what frequency do you want to cut out from your mids?

If you know that I can give you a nifty diagram.

That could be a problem, these are the stock speakers in the mustang, so I have no clue on impedence. As far as what do I want to cut out? the mids and lows mainly, these things suck for anything other than the highs, basically I want to use them as tweeters.

assuming they are 4ohm speakers (you can check when you install them with a multimeter), an inline 20ufd capacitor will cut everything below 2000hz at 6db/octave. Thats all the lows and a great deal of any mids that would distort.

if you want a little bit more robust dampening of the mids, heres a diagram for a 18db/octave

c4 13.26993 Microfarads (µfd)
c5 39.78991 Microfarads (µfd)
l5 0.23874 Millihenries (mHy)

Finding those exact values will be impossible, but anything around those values will give you similar results. Hit up radio shack.

Remember that two identical coils in paralel will half the value
