Im buying (2) 12" Kicker Comp Solar Baric L7 2006 subs and putting them in the back of the truck bed. Would a Plastic topper be okay to buy? Im wondering if a plastic flat topper would effect the bass.

cant you put them in the back of the cab? not only is it in a completely different section of the truck, its going to have major vibration on that plastic. the vibration is going to absorb a lot of bass plus that plastic vibrating is going to look and sound like poop.... It'd probably take a lot of dynamat to cover it up decent and even then i doubt it'd be much help.

Look into getting something that fits in the back of your cab, not only that but something other than kicker ;P

Assuming you're planning on porting the bed into the cab, a topper should have little effect on bass.

If youre making a blow-tru then it shouldnt matter.

Check that

If youre making a PROPER blow thru, then it shouldnt matter. If youre just throwing subs in the bed of your truck and expecting anything good to come of it, I'd rethink your plan of action

it isnt going to sound like you want, std cab owner to another. trust me you can get alot behind the seat iv had everything from 1 15 to 2 10's in my ranger. if u dont do a blow through it isnt worth putting them in the bed-

If you're putting the subs in the bed, you're going to have to cut a big hole in order to connect the bed and cab, use a boot material to weatherproof the whole deal, and build a specific box for the application which ports the box from the bed to the cab. It's the only sensible way. Other options which wouldn't require so much custom work and vehicle alteration would be maybe (4) 8's or 6's behind your seat. I've done these setups in several trucks and they can get surprisingly loud being the cabin is such a confined area.

we didnt mean just grab two subs and literally throw them in there, we mean putting it in a box and just placing it there without any sort of preperation or porting like previously stated.

haha if anyone just threw the actual speakers wired up in the back of their car/truck without mounting them to anything.. well i'd probably die laughing:lol:
