Post up the vin #
I think they used both 2.0L and 2.6L motors. A Conquset TSi motor would be the shit.

Yeah it is a 2.6L. Any Mitsu. car 2.6L motor should work up till about 1989.
Sorry for taking so long to get back to ya. My brain works only at work.

Pro's: somewhat dependable, make good power with turbo, ok on gas.
Con's: oil leaking bitch, jet valves, timming chain and guides always need replaced, and it used to cost a small fortune for parts. Alt's were like $500, starters $300, 10 years ago.

True, shifter bushings cost a ton, hehe. Whats the deal with the jet valves my bro tried explaining them to me but didnt work, since he doesnt totally understand them either. I'd love to turbo this little thing but its carbuerated, so wouldnt be to efficient but would still be fun

Jet valves had something to do with emmisions....i think. They are somewhat of a mystery around here too as to their primary function. Some tech's have said that they can be removed and plugged off. I dunno for sure, I do know they were used mostly on Cali. and high altitude american motors. And about all Jap 2.6L's

hmmm.....Me, my brother and my father have always wondered how much abuse these motors could handle. Slappig a turbo on here would be fun
Imagine this: Some car you dont even know what it is pulls up next to you. Your some badass Ricer. The car next to you revs it, vuuuuchhhh!!(shitty BOV impersonation) I dunno, im a dork i think that would be a badass car to turbo. The tranny was rebuilt not to long ago(Baby torqueflite) And we have never had any problems with the rearend, Needs a timing chain though. Do you know if the rearend is 2wd or 1wd, i suspect 1.

I think there was a LSD that was optional that year.
One easy way to find out if it's a 1 wheel wonder.
