yeah im thinking about taking those out and putting them in my sealed box,, because i've heard they hit way louder in a trunk so im gonna try that out,,, i might actually build a sealed box to the specifications of a sealed box they reccommend just so i'll get the max spl,, do you guys think i should just leave it in the kicker ported box?

It slams nicely in a trunk with the ported box it comes with just make sure you leave about 4 inches of space in front of that port so it can breathe.

If the box was built for the subs then its best suited for them. You will lose output in a sealed box.
Try something simple like facing them in a different direction...

hmm i'll try that but im still putting them in a sealed box, lol,,, my friends subs in his sealed box hit lower bass better and it seems just as loud

... lol,,, it says that box wiht those subs since it doesn't need as much power in the ported box,, it runs both at 600 rms,,, in a sealed box it runs at 800 watts,,, and my amp can put out 900 rms ,, so it should make up for it wiht the extra 200 watts of power ,,, more crisp clearer bass that travels lol,,,, all that ported box does is keep bass in my car ,, u can feel air and shit pushin through the car,,, when i had one comp vr in a sealed box u could hear it outside of the car pretty easy and it wasn't so uncomfortable in the car lol

it's loud in the car now wiht the ported but all u hear outside of the car is rattling,, i think the ported box is just destroying my car that's it... and my friends subs sound about like mine in the ported except his r a little weaker,, and his r easily heard outside of the car for a long ways,, im looking for bass that's gonna be heard outside of the car,, i probably just need more powerful subs or a shittier car that sound seaps out easy lol

dude im not trying to be a dick, but you dont know anything about car audio.
That extra 200 watts will not even break even with the loss in excursion a sealed box will cause.
If you want it to be loud outside of the car, you need to boost your 40-50hz range of bass. That is the most audible(and most easily produced) bass that will make a boom from 5 to 10 feet from your car. The bass is not all sound, its pressure. If your sub box sealed off the trunk from the passenger compartment you are losing a lot of sound as well.
Come out to the meet, bask in the audio knowledge of Toby, TBspyder, Sickvette and the rest of the audio regulars who can actually give you good advice. The stuff you are talking about makes no sense and is close to totally inaccurate.
My name is Dalton btw and I dont know everything about car audio (i know more about the electronics side) and I am often wrong but I am always willing to argue, admit my errors, and learn from other people. If you are seriously trying to learn and not just spout garbage, take hte time to come out to the meet next saturday(5-13) and learn.

man ,, i got props almost from a cop when i got my first kenwood amp hooked 2 these kickers but the amp cut out way 2 much soi got a more powerful one and it never sounded the same no matter how many times i messed with the gains and frequency's,,, i was bangin at a stop lightand i seen a cop like 5 car lengths at least away from me so i hit the pause button,, and he came up laughin ,, and i was real scared and he said " you know that's a 150 dollar ticket right?" im like no sorry sir it'll never happen again, lol,, and he was like " now you know,, and it's 25 ft not 225 ft" so he must've heard it inside of his car crystal clear,, that amp was the shit while itwasn't cutting out it really made the high loud bass come out of those subs and ported box,,, it was loud enoug hto hurt my ears and that takes a lot of loudness,,, but this amp is just a step above that other amp and it never sounds the same so nowi just want crisp clear bass I guess that comes out of my friends sealed box ,, to get a really really loud crisp and clear bass out of sealed boxes i guess you just need more powerful subs and equipment

... ok first off the words "clear" and "crisp" dont exactly go with "bass". You usually say hard and deep with bass and you keep clear & crisp with highs like tweeters man...
and stop telling us what you're going to get, go to the meet and LISTEN to people like Toby and the rest since you obviously know very little about audio. go back up and read Dalton's (notladstyle) post.

If you seriously want tight, clean bass, I'd get away from Kicker all together. Go with a name centered more around SQ rather than a company that focuses on trunk rattling teenagers. You're right, a sealed box is going to clean up your bass a whole lot.... but you're also going to lose output, meaning it's not going to be quite as loud.

lol,,, you guys might think im a total tard now,, but before when those subs were in a ported box,,,, for some reason the amp would cut out every couple min's,,, after putting them in a sealed box and wiring them the same way,,, it doesn't cut out for about half an hour of playing them past breaking point,,, it sounds the same as the ported box just a bit different,, all i can say is this sealed box is half the size of that ported box
oh i dont know if i said this already but im gona have 4 comp vrs in my trunk soon,, because im not just saying "i have" 3 comp vrs,, only 2 r hooked up,,, and im soon 2 purchase another kenwood 9152d 1800 watt amp ,,, rewire it wiht 0 guague or 1 guage wires for power,,, get the 4 subwoofer box,,, hook the other 2 just like i have these 2 hooked up and i'll have a bangin ass system,, bangin enough at least lol ... and of course i have 2 purchase 1 more comp vr probably do it on ebay unless anyone knows where i could get a deal and won't have to spend 150 on one

No actually that won't be a banging system.. It'll pretty much sound like a bunch of crud.
Oh God why am I even dignifying this stupidity with a response.
Why do you insist on creating posts that barely make sense? And since when does english grammar dictate that you use three commas in place of a period?

Actually, your amp shouldn't be cutting out in either box. If your amp is cutting out after any period of time, something is wrong. You're either pushing your system past the point of distortion, have the gains or crossovers set way too high, or have some kind of wiring problems.
it sounds the same as the ported box just a bit different,,
Kind of like an apple looks just like a banana, just a bit different? :P

dude, for the last time, your subs are not supposed to cut out AT ALL.
Second, wtf is a breaking point?
Third, How can it sound the same but a bit different?
Fourth, No SHIT?! half the size?! REALLY?!?! when did sealed boxes become half the size of ported??!??! this is a breakthrough.
Fifth, I have realized yo are in fact a troll so I'm going to refrain from giving you any more real advice or argument.

I am seriously, for the sake of all humanity, praying you are not as stupid as your past few posts sound man. please, PM me and let me know you are just messing with us to get a laugh. If you are truly this stupid, humanity has no hope.

i've tried it's either when the gains up,,,, it sounds loud like i want then cuts out after 30 min's.. if i turn the gains down it just sounds 2 weak, plus if anyone knows what kinda settings r good on the bass boost remote.. i have the main frequency set around 60 hz on the amp,,, and 4 boosting using the remote I always set it to amplify 40 hz about half way up on the bass boost ,,, any lower it sounds weak

If your current equipment is not loud enough for you on the correct settings, you simply need better overall equipment. Sounds like you're pushing your current setup way beyond it's limits in order to make up for volume. Amps should operate flawlessly for hours on end at near maximal output. Switching to a sealed box is only going to reduce that volume either further. And bass boost controls are simply a fancy name for a distortion knob. Sounds like it's time for an upgrade.
