Well I between me and a couple friends we have accumulated a bunch of spare parts. We have just about everthing I need for to swap on an L67 topend onto my L36 block. I got some pics, cellphone pics, but pics non the less. All I have left to get is an idler pulley, newer tensioner, MPS, VS cam, 105#springs, timing chain/dampner, and an L67 flywheel.

Should have all the remaining part I'll need in by the end of May. Then I have to wait to do the swap. We usually work at my friends house since most of us don't have anywhere to work on our cars. He is moving to a different place in town. So he doesn't want to start any new projects untill he's settled into his new place.

I wish I would have known you were collecting all that stuff. I threw out and gave away a lot of extra parts I had from my L67 swap. Let me know if there are any spare parts you need I still have an alternator, L67 injectors, 160 thermostat, and a bunch of other stuff.

Are you using the L36 or L67 computer and from what year?

What made you decide to go the L67 top end route instead of turbo?

What made you decide to go the L67 top end route instead of turbo? You wouldn't happen to have an L67 flexplate would ya? For the computer I have a tuning program. Going to flash it as a GTP computer and just change the gearing for my tranny. Reason I didn't go turbo is that this is coming out cheaper then a turbo setup. Most of these parts are leftovers from other motors my friends have built/swapped/blownup.

what kind of numbers are you looking for? Same setup as me minus the cam and a larger 4.0 pulley made 253WHP and 300ft/lbs. Dyno Sheet (http://www.zzperformance.com/latest_news_img/95_1.jpg)

The VS cam that I'll be using is good for about 35-50 HP. So with the 3.4'' pulley that I'll be runing, I'm shooting for 270WHP and 320ft/lbs

Sorry, I don't have a leftover flexplate.
What tuning software are you using? I debated back and forth for a while and ended up going with the DHP PowerTuner.

It has some bugs in it at times making me wish I went with HP tuners but the customer service that DHP has is great. And now the "Wide Open" option came out. So you can tune popular 3800 or 3400 powerd cars between 98-02.

go turbo, you'll be happier.

go turbo, you'll be happier. Too much $$$ and I'm on a budget. Would of been atleast $1500 if I did everthing myself. Then with that power I would had to upgrade the tranny. But 12's would of been great. I'm settling for a slow 13.5's on street tires. Plus everyone knows, Whine > BOV

looks like its gona be worth the patience... and be pretty badass.

you putting in a stall with it?

HeavyChevy3800

you putting in a stall with it? After this gets done then it will be time for the tranny to get worked on. 2900 stall (Not big at all), Hardned Inputshaft, Hardended chain and an HD diff. With that I can run slicks safely and get low 13's or 13's flat out of it. A Lumina with an L67, 3.2'' pulley and 1.8/1.85 SR rockers ran 13.2 at 101 (high altitude). I'll have a cam instead and higher compression. So with slicks 13's flat is very possible.

Are you planning on running an intercooler or water/alcohol injection?

Have you found a good tranny shop around the Tampa Bay area?
I have a shift kit I need installed.

Upgrading to a fully built ZZP tranny is expensive and then you have to add in a diff (GM/Torsen or Quaife).

Are you planning on running an intercooler or water/alcohol injection? No intercooler or alky. Once the motor work gets done I'll see where I'm at. If I still want more than I still have the option of porting the blower, working the heads, using a bigger TB, dropping a pulley size and upgrade to 42.5# Injectors. Before I run an intercooler.
Have you found a good tranny shop around the Tampa Bay area?

I'm in Tallahassee for school so don't know about any shops in Tampa. As for installation of the shift kit I used the "Do It Yourself" kit off ClubGP. Installed it myself. Very easy install and you can download the full instruction w/ pictures.
Upgrading to a fully built ZZP tranny is expensive and then you have to add in a diff (GM/Torsen or Quaife). Not going with a built transmission from ZZP. Their is a very reputable shop here in Tallahasse that can rebuild my tranny w/ stock parts for $800. Provided I bring him the tranny out of the car. I'll be bringing him the upgraded parts to install. For the diff I'll just be using the 4t65e-HD diff. Just need the diff, tranny casing, and a GTP passenger axel.

you cant run an intercooler on a roots style blower as it becomes the intake manifold. do they make a heat exchanger for them?

It's been a while since I updated. I've gotten a few parts since then. Right now the heads are at a machine shop. Getting hot tanked, receiving a 3 angle valvejob, new valveseals and getting assembled with 105# springs and LS1 style retainers.

I guess I'll start off with the exhaust. PEM's, going single 3'' exhaust, 3'' Cutout, 3''DP, No cat, 3'' Bullet Muffler, 3'' Borla Pro XS and dumping it.

3.4'' pulley. Going to also buy a 3.6'' pulley to be safe.

The blower is now black and I somehow I came into possesion of this heat shield thing.

All I need is a timing chain, SC belt and that damn VScam. I always get so close to buying it then I have to get something else. I'll be ready for teardown/assembly on July 9th. Now I have to find the time to do it.

heavy chevy... let me know how you do with this, and if you can,, a COMPLETE list of parts...

I am gathering parts for my 3800 top-end swap now, and I wanted to know.

ALSO 3.4 is a very, very small pully. It is a general consensus that on L36 compression a 3.8 pulley on L36 compression is like a 3.4, and a 3.4 is like a 3.0... Some say its a difference of .2 some say .4, but you will HAVE to scan for knock, and i guaruntee with just a cam and free breathing exhaust, unless those are TOG or SLP headers and you are lucky,, you will have some KR, maybe a lot. If you have no KR even through WOT, then you will have a very very fast car :D

Please let me know, or at least post a complete list if you get a chance! All the main parts, injectors, fuel rails, pulleys, NUTS AND BOLTS (yes, some of my parts like LIM and s/c didnt come with bolts  )

Thank you very very much, I wish you well with the swap and i'd love to see it when your done!

L36 hybrid! wooo.

Kyle. I have a DHP powertuner. Scanning/tunning will not be a problem. I know how important scanning is. With some really good tuning you can run a 3.0 pulley w/ a VS cam in an L67. So a 3.4 isn't as very, very, very small as you think. I'll be starting off with a 3.6''. Thank for the lecture in KR though. I'm no newb at this.

As far as a complete parts list. Most likely not going to happen. I have neither the patients or attention span to make a list. If you really need a list to tell you everthing you need then it might be a task you don't want to take on on your own.

I believe i have made myself a nearly complete list on my computer, but i will hopefully be having someones blown engine to take parts off of that i dont have. (l67)...

Wasnt saying your a newb, i just see u on mymonte when i had my mc and i really would hate to see your car get killed by KR.

Good luck with the project, let me/us know how it goes!
