Suicidal Racing

55 crew won stock suspension
Matt Salminen won 10.5
the nasty boys took pro mod

track was trash and didn't come around tell the semis and even then it wasn't all that great.one of the real speed cars went side ways on the top end after he went threw the traps.ended up hitting the wall down there and rolling it onto its side.corry brushed the wall around 200ft into a qf pass.futch hit the wall in his blown firebird around the 60ft mark in the 3rd rd.

u could of got into the stock suspension field if u ran under 7.50s every pass i watched cars where dancing all over the track..crazy night

i was standing on the line and ray miller for miller race cars..not sure if thats his first name.but futch did a burn out and some one left a screw driver on the car and he hit it doing it and shoot it out hit miller in the leg.if he wasn't standing there it would of hit me.crazy part is it got past like 3 kids that where standing in front of him..

no problem..hopefuly it wont be like that next time..it made for some great action.but i would rather see cars make clean passes then to see them rolling the dice on wrecking or not.

yeah i seen it.he was able to lay down that time because he has the best of the best for a chassis under that body..the car is the new age outlaw or something like that.when he ran that time me and a couple other people where like oh shit people are going to step it up now and its going to get hairy.he got dq'ed for clipping the cone on the top end and he was all over the place in the last 300ft.he had the field coverd to.it sure is a nice car though

I agree that the track was loose but you cant fault the track crew for not trying to fix it, seemed like the tractor made more passes down the track the most cars. lol j/k I've got some pics uploaded to my flickr site now, I'll have more posted later.

Do you happen to have taken any pictures of the orange and purple mustang stock suspenion car, Or the silver and maroon mustang stock suspenion car that crash and hit the wall

I didnt get any pics of the of the one that hit the wall because that happened before I got there. I didnt get many pics period due to it bieng a new camera, so I'm trying to learn it. I remember the orange and purple mustang but the pic came out kinda terrible. Very nice car though. Next month I'll try to make up for the lack of pics from this time around.

BTW I've got the final few pictures that actually came out uploaded.

I'm using the new panasonic lumix dmc-fz7. If you go to the site the click on the little magnifing glass above the pic that says 'all sizes' it'll give you a 1280x960 version. If you'd like a higher resolution picture of any of them shoot me a pm with your e-mail and I'll gladly send whatever size you want.

No problems getting down the track with progressives. Had two cars going down just fine. Both of them had tranny issues, though.

Coady sold his car. It was Bobby Hollingsworth and the yellow Corvette - Erwin. The yellow Vette is in that guy's pictures.

P.S. Bobby ran a mid 4.80 pass in qualifying. (85 or 86)

Well...he'd been building a 3rd gen Camaro for a while. (while he had the Chevy II) If I remember right, he was selling the nova and was going to finish up the Camaro, but he sold that, too. It's been a couple of years so my memory's a bit foggy. He's got 2 boats now, and he's fixing up a 57 Chevy pickup, so no race cars. He also just had to put one of his dogs down. And he's working a lot...he's a sub for Donald now. Okay, I know entirely too much about Coady's life. LOL

Damfino. It's just sitting in the garage, waiting to go to Rob's. They just want to throw it on the dyno to make sure everything's ok..no leaks, air/fuel stuff, etc. We always do that. Anyway, Donald's burned out and so is Rob (Rob drives it), so it's on the back burner. Plus Donald sold our trailer last year and hasn't bought a new one yet. Again...back burner. (this guy with his racing is like me with shoes!)

He did, however, spend like 2 hours cleaning the Probe up. He made me go out and pack the parachutes like 1 week post-op. Bastid. (I'm not supposed to be in any kind of heat or do any physical work) Err...I talk too much.

That's why I wasn't around much at the track Friday. I missed basically everything.

I really hope we get one or both of the cars to the track next month. I'm going through withdrawels.

Rob will get a bug up his ass again soon i'm sure, or someone will start busting balls and they'll bring it out. Tell me about going through withdrawls.. I went cold turkey, from going 5.50s to the wall to no car at all.. ugh.
Hope to get started on the 70 here soon (probably going to have Joe/Rob help out with the combo, don't know anyone up here yet that I trust), but have my 10 yr anniversary to take care of first (trip to vegas and a new ring, will set me back JUST a little.. :| ) not to mention 2 kids...

As funny as it may sound, going to Sunshine is something I really miss about leaving FL. Was nice to get to Huntsville and check out some good racing, but 20 miles vs. 70 is a little different..

Ghost, when it's Donald, he's either hot or cold. He's either in the garage until 2 in the morning or he won't even answer phone calls from racing buddies! Believe me, I'm used to it. <G>
