View Full Version : 420a owners, need help with FMU
Over the weekend I want to install the FMU I have. Read and read on it plenty of times. Seems like I can do it but if anyone would like to help me let me know... because its a task I do not want to mess up on. I can drive to your place if that makes it more convient. Let me know. I'm still iffy about trying to do this myself.

1st question is do you have a regular FMU or SFMU??

Its not as easy as it seems. You can get the in and out confused. My vortech does not have the in and out marked. As many times I've read up on it, seems easy but it gets me confused. Not to mention mine needs be installed in the rear by the gas tank since thats where my fuel filter is. Then I would need to run a vaccum line from the fmu all the way to my engine bay.

Also, this link gives instructions to put on an SFMU but the only difference is the SFMU you can adjust static and idle fuel pressures and the FMU you cant.

All good, I will try to do it even though I've never worked on a 2g 420a lol. I'm a noob.
