ok at higher volumes my amp kicks off into protection mode, it was suggested that my wiring is to blame since my ground is fine...here's a diagram of how I have it setup now

should this be wired differently? help i'm noob

you should have the right side positive and the left side positive running into the positive terminal for bridge mode. Then the left side negative and the right side negative running to the negative terminal for bridge mode. The just run a wire from the positive to the negative on the left over voice coil on each sub. You will then have a 4ohm load.

its a little more complicated to wire it up for a 1ohm load which im not even sure if ur amp would be stable at 1 ohm.

i want a 4ohm load...care to point me in the direction of a wiring guide in the manner your speaking of? perhaps with pictures lol

With 2 dvc subs and a two channel amp you will not be able to wire the subs at 4 ohms unless you bridge it which IMO is pointless for your setup. The ways to wire it are: 2 ohms x 2 channels, 8 ohms x 2 channels and 4 ohms x 1 channel bridged. But if it is bridged it would run the same as if you are running it at 2 ohms x 2.

you should have the right side positive and the left side positive running into the positive terminal for bridge mode. Then the left side negative and the right side negative running to the negative terminal for bridge mode. The just run a wire from the positive to the negative on the left over voice coil on each sub. You will then have a 4ohm load.

What are you talking about??? Just do it the right way and do it like this... (which is 2 ohms x 2 channels)

thanks, looks like i have something to do tomorrow when i get off work, btw what ohm load am I running right now?

I don't really know what you have it running at right now. I'm actually surprised its working at all. But what ever its running at its probably not good for your sub and/or your amp.

On Each Sub Make A Jumper Wire That Goes From Only One Vc Pos To The Other Vc Neg. Then From The Remaining Pos & Neg Take To Amp. Now At Amp Bridge The Amp - Connect Both Wires + And - Wires On Amp For Bridging
There - A 4 Ohm Load Bridged

Exactly. Pretty much same basic thing i said but i guess it wasnt good enough for 99Rs up there.

gcherokee make me a pic of your wiring diagram? or is it the same thing your describing as eclipse? lol

I'm just saying there is no point in bridging the amp if you don't have to. Its easier IMO to run a channel to each sub especially when you are going to get the same results.

wow i suck at the paint program. I agree with you that it is less work to wire it up to each channel, but if i were doing i would do it like i described, but to each his own.

WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
IF YOU WANT TO RUN IT STEREO THEN ATTACH THE RIGHT POS OUT OF THE AMP TO BOTH + ON SUB, AND SAME FOR NEG - DO IT AGAIN FOR LEFT SIDE
THIS WILL RUN THE AMP AT 2 OHM STEREO - SHOULD GET GREAT POWER AND NOT HURT THE AMP

2 ohm stereo will put out the same power as 4 ohm bridged is what i meant by doing the same thing.

It really doesn't matter with lower frequencies wether you run stereo or mono. I would run momo as an out of phase stereo setup will actually drop out lower frequencies all together. The lower you run the amp the shorter it's life span. Very few amps will run well at 2 ohms, hardly any will run at 1. Of coarse, you won't get a manufacturer to admit that. If you can match the output wattage to the speaker wattage at 4 or 8 ohms why run 2 ?

well eclipse the wiring guide you suggested isn't working the subs aren't hitting wired up like that, any other suggestions?

your subs should all be wired to the same circuit - dont put them in stereo. Run them 4ohm mono and be done with it. your amp will run cooler too.

option #2....should that be how I wire them? is that bridged?

sweet option 2 works well and it no longer cuts out =)
