Just wondering how much whp it would take a 2000lb race weight fwd honda with a b16 to run 11.99 or better? I checked out some 1/4 mile calculators just for an idea and it seems to say about 230whp. just wondering if some one can give me a decent estimate?

as much as you can get:dunno:
just build the torquiest, badassest engine you can, throw some slicks on there and learn how to drive
either way you got a cool car
but it also takes suspension work and other stuff as well, aside from just all out power

230Hp....I would say closer to 300.I think 230 with a reaaaaal low 60 ft and perfect traction..And even thats a stretch.

For drag racing in FWD you will need to pay attention to your suspension/tire setup more than the motor I would think. Proper suspension, clutch, LSD, axles, solid motor mounts, and then some slicks I would think would help get your 60ft down. Then I would worry about the motor. Im sure any bolt on turbo kit, properly set up, would yield a sub 11 second pass.
Also if it is strictly a drag car, take as much weight out as humanly possibly.

like every one else said..we cant give u a hp number because there are to many factors in this..like supension, tires, weight balance,tq and hp level..then u got to tune it all for the track conditions...i've seen plenty of high hp cars not even come close to the numbers they should run all because..they aint tune the car right.

I'm not saying its not possiable..I'm just saying that its not as easy as it sounds to run 11's
Drag Launch Springs , Metallic non sprung hub clutch , 230-280WHP in a semi gutted CRX/EG with 22X8X13 Slicks ...
230whp in a 2000lb car n/a should run 11's. If the car is turbo then somewhere around 250whp or so should do it due to the powerband. I've personally put together an eg hatch that weighed well over 2000lbs and with 303whp ran 11.6's on slicks with good driving.

In the RWD world to run an 11 you need about a 1.6 60ft there abouts and somewhere in the neighborhood of 7.60 in the 1/8 and and a 1/4 trap speed around 113ish. Obviously more mph means you can slack off in the other departments but to do it with the least amount of hp that's about the norm for a street car. I think FWD can't be too far off that. Regardless of weight/hp/RWD or FWD that's where you car needs to be ET wise. Hope this helps. -Mark
