My mustang is in the shop getting a new shortblock. I went with my buddy and he ran his mustang. Best he could muster out was an 8.1@91mph. He had a 2.0 60 foot so if he can get some slicks he should be into the 7's.. Nice car bro..

The track sucked for traction. The best i could run was 6.98@107. I'm going back to Bradenton. Didnt see too many imports out.

yep it did suck for traction , this was my first time on the track and i ran thru the water and didnt smoke my tires and all i was doing was sit in one place lol sad but true :-P

Yea I finally got to see your car in person. Kick ass setup. Only run of yours I saw was one where you spun badly..Yea after running 6.98 i decided to turn the boost up 2lbs in 2nd gear. That resulted in me spinning down the whole track. I was only running 20lbs. In the 1/4 i hit 30lbs.

That track was a 1/4th mile track at one time. They say that a few people couldn't shut down in time and ran off the track.

I never understood why anyone would think 1/8th mile sucks. The only difference for me is how long i'm at wot in 4th.
The hardest part of drag racing is the first 60ft feet followed by the next 300ft or so.

I just tire of those complaining about 1/8 mile racing, they obviously don't understand the sport and how in order to have a car perform well in the 1/4 mile it needs to perform even better in the 1/8.

anywho....

Only the fast n furious ricer types think that way. Let's see...1/8 mile kills fewer parts, burns less fuel, and if you crash, it's at a slower speed.

Besides, 1/8 races are more entertaining. I mean, if you've got a car that runs 5.20s and another car that runs 5.40s, that's a pretty close 1/8 mile race! Let them run it out in the 1/4, and it's not close at all, and you pretty much already see who's going to win before the 660.

Just my opinion, of course.

yep thats why i love stock suspension.them cars have way more action going on then anything else.theres so many things that can go on..they can go straight up,n2o backfire,blow the tires off at the hit,do half track wheel stands..plus they look just like street cars.

Just my opinion, of course.Well when you run Fwd and in the 1/8 mile you can only run 20lbs because of traction and after you can up the boost then you would like 1/4 mile like me. My best to date is 6.79@108. In the 1/4 i trap 144mph and only run low 10's. 144mph in a RWD= low 9's or even high 8's ;)

I understand why certain combinations like the 1/4, I just tire of those that don't understand the 1/8 and therefore say it "sucks, etc".
If I still had it, and lived in FL, and Sunshine let me, I'd take these people for a spin in my car (or anything faster, being that mine was not exactly top dog) in the 1/8.. I think they'd change their tune... :)
hell, i'd just give them a 60' shot and watch them smile like I did every time (or shit their pants) ;)

Derek, I rode with Donald a few times in his old Maverick. First time, it ran 5.60 something. Then he took a 3 speed in it and ran it on the motor - only ran 6.00s but felt just as wicked. (it went 5.80s w/o me in it.)
