i was going to build a 401 for the girlfriend but i decided to give her mine and build a solid roller motor with a 200 shot for the street :mullet:
i picked up another set of indy heads. so as of now all i have is the 401 and indy heads and intake. my motor didn't have the extra head bolts drilled or the 4 bolt caps drilled and installed. i want to turn 7500r's and spray with this motor so i thought it was be easier to just build it from scratch :mullet:
hope to have it installed in a year. i'm building it this time so it shouldn't take as long as the last build.
anyone run a solid roller on the street? how did it hold up?

my 327 had a solid roller cam in it..it was fine when i did drive it on the street..i'm about to do a pump gas street engine as we speak.should be a 355 with 11-1 compression,700 lift cam,all roller valve train, brodix tr1 heads, fogger system,750 carb..
going to use the stock 4bolt main block filled to freeze plugs, stock crank, carrillo rods and je or weisco pistons.looking to build the short block for around 750$ should make some killer power..around 850 or less.

i'm thinking around .650 lift. the heads will flow 350 @ .700 lift with good port work. i'm thinking 500-550 to the wheels N/A and spray a 200 shot.
i'm going to call around and see if i can get a custom cam that will work with a 3500 stall and pull to 7200-7500. the most i want to run on the street is a 4000 stall. but i'm afraid i won't be able to hook on the street with a stall that big. i'm thinking to under stall the motor to help get off the line and and make up for it in the 4500-7000 range.

my stall was 3800...the one i'm going to get is a 4500 range one..and this will be a daily driver car for me.
u will end up having to drive threw the stall when on juice though..i would just not bring the stall that high up on the street.u will lose alot coming off the line under stalled..i will say a full tenth in the 60ft.
i may have a conect for u for a custom cam..just tell me what kind of specs and i will contact him and see what the price is.
