to be honest, i have always liked Toyota products, shi$, i have even built a 2jz for a friend. but, anyway, money is tight these days and for some reason my family has been having a lot of car problems. our friend gave us a Toyota 86 celica that hasnt been ran for like 6-7 years. he told me what was going on with the car when he had last ran it. i did some things here and there and it started right up. i am now getting the parts for general mantanance. but man, for a car that hasnt been ran for so long and to start right up, thats great, i know i am thankful.

That's toyota for ya. That's my main decision/reasoning for buying a 90 toyota 4x4 pickup. And all the people that run around with their 4AGE's with over 200+k miles beat to piss, low on oil, low on coolant, and still running without complaining. One of the best toyota engines perhaps of all times (as far as dependability is concerned) the 22R(E). I have personally seen many of these trucks run with over 300k miles on the stock odometer (although most go for 250-280k miles), and their are those out their that go beyond that. Bottom line , Toyota > all.

Ha thats nothing, I own 2 celica, my dad owns a 92 corolla(bullet proof 4afe) lol and my g/f owns a echo. My dad's car will last forever. When he sells it I'm definately picking it up as a daily driver. Although its pretty ugly, that rolla will never leave you stranded.

Comming from a 1997 Ford 460 powered F250 HD 4x4 I was hating life that I had to get something with a backseat for the new addition to our family. But since I got into the 4Runner I have not had one complaint. Never has it stranded me, never has anything ever happend. I get over twice the gas mileage and it can still pull a decent load on a trailer. It's a 1995 SR5, I am still learning a bit about Yota's. If you guys have any tips please shoot them my way.

www.yotatech.com your best resource for anything toyota truck wise. Excellent choice on buying a 4runner btw.

yea, i first realized the quality thereof at the age of 17 working at a cobra replica shop. my buddy brought in his toyota with over 400,000 miles on it!!!! The horn had a bleeder to help keep moisture out of it. All and all, Toyata has always built quility products (with good gas milage) and they are about fully reap the awards when they slide into the #1 spot over GM and Ford.

some side info:
in Gorilla Marketing it states something like out of every 2 million products made in the usa. 200,000 have defects while for every 2 million products made in Japan only 4,000 have defects.

Toyota is working hard to keep quality standards above bar. they are worried because of how fast they are growing it may be difficult to keep this culture strong through out the company=there are many new people working for Toyota all over the world, in which this group may not be so dedicated to quality standards and cut corners.

since gas is so high now. i will get a Toyota with good gas milage. so basically i am asking which Toyota motor is best at gas milage and longativity.

I  my Toyota. I bought my Tacoma almost 9 years ago brand new for about $10,000 it was the basic model with only Ari and Power brakes but let me tell you the phone we had in this bitch. It has 180,000 miles on it now and unfortunatly it has a Piston Slapping so the Engine is pretty much Garbage to me.
I definitly plan on fixing it back up but I was thinking of putting a Small Block 350 in it (since I happen to have one laying around). I would like to turn the truck into strickly drag racing. Ithing it would be pretty sick. but then again it would be a chevy engine and we all know how reliable they are  .....
