I am toying with the idea of turbocharging my Jeep Cherokee w/2.5l 4cyl. I have the basic information regarding the turbo, increasing the injector size and such. I am concerned about controling the amount of boost, timing and fuel. One set up used an adjustable MAP sensor and a manual boost controler. Creative, but I would like to have something that would be more dependable and not prone to "OOPS!'. One problem is that the PCM (ECU) won't know what to do with boost and there seems to be no one that can re flash or chip it to do so. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Note: do not to run over 7 lbs of boost as it is stock internals. Thanks

well couple routes to do....you can go the route of Megasquirt or the like for more affordable standalones...or you can get basic with reasonable control just by having a set wastegate spring for your desired pressure level, and a boost timing master (MSD's - BTM) to retard timing as manifold pressure increases, and a fuel managment unit (FMU) for your desired fuel pressure adjustments....would also recommend an inline or intank fuel pump if they make one for you, to handle the needed pressures.

If I where going to turbo a NA car I would use and additional injector controller. There are many kinds on the market. E-manage, HKS, Greddy, Aquamist, ETC.
car would still run flawless off boost. All fueling needed when turbo comes on is handled by the added injector/injectors

Thanks. That gives me a direction. This progect is still in the "hair brained" idea stage. I may be back for more insight. Again thanks.

Look into an SDS EIC Controller. They can control 2 or 4 extra injectors, and are boost + RPM set.
