289 or 302 or strait six
if any one saw the kid with the post for the 65 falcon i was interested in it..but i wanted to know a few things first... is the stock strait six, three on the tree worth more than if i did a 289 swap...or would i be better doing a 302? or just keeping the motor stock for matching numbers? which one of these motors will increase value? And does anyone know if these cars are holding value? restored? and what about parts..are they easy to come by?..Thanks alot..

I'd put a 302 in it. I saw a sweet one at Blue Oval yesterday.

if want a car to build value you have to get something that is rare or super desirable.
basiclly steve b nailed it, it's a cool car but a falcon with a six banger in it isn't going to be a huge demand item. unless it's mint with like 4 miles on it.
put a 302 in it, parts are everywhere new and used and you can make nice power with one fairly inexpensive, and i know you are used to hondas and such so i'll take it easy on ya.
fords don't get SWAPPED! just put a new motor in the freaking thing.

Ford passenger cars from 1963 to 1966 are basically the same. they were all based on the Ford Falcon unibody. Parts are every where. You can buy parts for a 64-66 Mustang, which are in abundance, and bolt them right up to your Falcon. They dont hold that great a value unless mint with low miles and all original. Its not necessarily a desirable car like a Mustang unless your talking to someone like me who loves oddball classics, like my Comet. The Falcon is light, oddball and fun to drive. Drop a V8, C4 and bigger rear end in it and have some fun. It will probably bring more value at resale like that any way.
