tweeter blown?

I finally installed an amped my infinity kappa components (60.5CS) last week, I drove for two days and everything was great, sounded very good (and loud!) but my sister borrowed my car for a few days and when I got into it today I noticed there was no sound coming from the driver side tweeter and it has a big dent in it, I took everything apart, tried the tweeter on both cross overs and even directy from the amp (volume turned very low) and im getting nothing, not even static.

I dont know how you blow a tweeter (maybe playing too loud?) but that is crazy, a new set of kappa tweeters run about $70 dollars on ebay, I think I am just going to watch this auction and throw these in instead, I cant spend 70 bucks on tweeters:

Dude your sister is a jerk, that's just disrespect blowing up your brothers expensive and nice kappa tweeters, tell her to pay for it, dont bother fixing them.

Its just common courtesy to anyone that if they're generous to loan you their car for a few days for whatever reason, you friggen take care of it...

so i wont have an issue hooking up the reference tweeters to these? what about other brands?

you can hook just about any tweeter into the infinity crossover - you might need to use a very low value resistor inline to adjust the volume to match the woofer though. I'm not sure how familiar you are with board level soldering but you can actually replace the resistor/capacitor on the crossover boards to adjust as well if you cant find an identical replacement tweeter.
