Well I finally picked up my new 240 two days ago. Its a 1991 with a sr20det black top, HKS turbo and alot of other stuff. I bought it from a friend because he blew the motor, caused by oil stravation. I'm planing to rebuild it into a track car.I just started the tear down yesterday.

This is when i first got it:

Day 1- I strip the interior and carpet and I'm keeping the parts i need in the car, small garage space:

Day 2- Starting to remove the motor. I took off the hood, front bumper, front mount intercooler, radiator, ac components and switched the wheels from the track car to my daily drver (more tread on them).

phantom
04-03-2006, 11:14 PM
Yea this is the same car that was at the dun dun shop, it had a bad turb line lol, there is not 20k invest in the car lol. I bought it from a friend for 1500, i thought that was a steal; the car came with kaaz 2 way, alum. driveshaft, gt25/40r i think, z32 maf, XS blow off valve, Greddy front mount, greddy boost controller, blitz turbo timer, 450cc injectors and tein stech spring with tokico blues, boost gauge, unknown condition black top(could be rebuildable), custom 3-inch exhaust, Spec Lighten flywheel and 6 puck clutch with 3xxx miles on it.

Yea Im moving faster than i expected too. This is my first real rebuild.

Nice project, looks like its coming along really well

you can use lots of spray paint for the engine bay if you want to go the cheap way. or look up an automotive paint shop in the yellow pages and use a spray gun if you have one or a way to get one. theres one off us19 and 62nd i forgot what its called. i got my paint from there.

Well I start with 20 pounds of dry ice and Some rear sound deading to take care of. I thought this was going to be a simple job. It is but it takes alot of time. Well after I got rid of the sound deaden, I used a wire brush to clean up the remains. Then I decide to cut out some metal too, to make room for my cage.

Started out looking like this:

not to whore your thread bro, but we have 2 used bumpers exactly like your broke one minus the broke part for 125 a pop.

Actually I'm ordering a different bumper soon. I got that one in a trade. It's a perfect track bumper because it can't get much worse.

no updates. I'm in Spring semster at FSU and my car is in clearwater. Actually I'm was thinking that I might just get it painted and then put the car together and selling it. I want to move to a new platform, IS300.
