So yet again Saturday brings around another meet. Anyone up?

It will be at TGIF's again this week, thanks for everyone chimming in on it.

People start to show up between 730-800pm.

Old Chicago always gets my vote, but again, I don't know if I'll be able to make it out there until tomorrow or Thursday.

That's cool. Yeah I feel ya. Don't get me wrong TGIF is always good, but every other week is a bit of a stretch.

i wish we could just stick to a place. i dont really care where we do it, but we need to make sure we are there longer than 2 months. Yes, if we go to old chicago, there will be more room, but, so far, we have had enough at fridays. But like i said, it doesnt really matter where.

Last time we started going regularly to Fridays, the service got worse and worse as they realized we'd still be back the next week. I think that last meet's service was starting to show the same trend.

That said, whatever is decided is fine with me.

i agree with java. Hey, we should all try to get one big ass table and sit down inside whether we eat or not. We need to get together as a group and hangout. Maybe we could talk to the manager there and let them know that we will be coming there every couple of weeks. Maybe, they could tell us when it is less busy at certain hours and we can all come then. I dont know....w/e.

ill tell you right now that the manager will probably accomodate us on the table one time, and if not everyone eats then they wont again. its all about money for them and a couple of tables is a lot of potential money let go for the restaurant. that being said if the service is shit then ask to see the manager and raise hell. that will turn them around. :D

getting back on topic, i should be there but i have to find out whether or not i got the tickets to lighning rangers on sat. ill let you guys know.

I haven't started going to the meets (part 2) because I don't like TGIFridays. It is too expensive and the service did suck when we originally went there. While some can say "eat before you go", the manager can probably just tell us not to come back, since all we are doing is loitering. If a majority of the people spend money, then TGIFridays will be happy, but if it gets to the point where Subaru Meets take up a whole section of parking, and only 6 people go inside, I'm sure the boss won't be too happy.

Old Chicago was cooler, except now, with baseball season starting again, all that parking may not be available if the Thresher's have a game that night. Old Chicago not only has better (and cheaper) food and drinks, they didn't charge us the party rate (automatic 20% tip) on the bill.

I think a lot of the drop off between the locations didn't have as much to do with where they were, but:
1) the frequency of the meets. Every week was overload.
2) the beef some people started having with others.

I'd probably start to go to the Chicago meets again, but unless I really had nothing else to do, I probably won't be heading to the TGIFridays (even though it is way closer to my house).

Yeah, well last summer's weekly TGI-Fridays meets were started by Dave (BrewPuBeaver). At first, the service was fine, weeks later, the service began to deterioriate.

Dave talked to the managers about the service numerous times. The only thing they offered were something in the lines of coupons if I remember correctly. We would even give them a rough headcount in advance to prepare a section for us half an hour to an hour in advance. Yet the service was not good!

Yeah, I like Old Chicago better. I used to be in charge of the meets there. The only downside now is that they had to block off a section of the parking lot for baseball games. Plus it's more fun at t3h OC since they have that trivia game. Ha.

In other words, what Hihobibo and Alzarin said were on point.
