Lookin for $5000.
the car has Black leather and is in descent shape wear on bolsters pretty normal stuff. also the pasenger window regulator is bad another ver common issue with mk3's with power windows.
heres the hard hitter, the clutch slips when u step on it in any gear other that first but then grips like normal! really weird.
mods:
mk4 shift knob and boot
jetta front(yeah its black...)
stock resonator cut out
neuspeed intake w/k&n
neuspeed srings
OEM vr6 lip!

You dont have to replace the chains, its the guides that wear:)

FYI, your clutch cylinders are bad.. Thats why it "slips" when you get on it, same thing happened to a buddy of mine..

What??? It more than likely is the clutch disk is worn down to paper thin so it won't grip.

Why wouldn't you replace the timing chains if you were replacing the guides/tensioners? If the chains are rubbing the on a worn tensioner or guide it will cause the chain to wear also. Plus the chains can stretch over extended periods of time.

To the original poster, you are asking too much for a high mileage 97 in need of a clutch job, with no maintainence done to it, good luck with your sale.
