I see that happen all the time....but can't say I've ever heard of it being repaired. Maybe you could rip the old stuff off and make some new rings out of 1/2" mdf or something like that. Or invert them.

I've never heard of it, but I guess it would be worth a try to call Alpine's tech line and ask.

I like TBSpyder's idea of making new ones. use something like black plexiglas...that would be cool.
For a new paper one, you might try The Speaker Exchange. They are on Hillsborough, and they used to do all sorts of speaker reconing, etc. 813-237-4800.
Another source might be a place called Parts Express. www.partsexpress.com (http://www.partsexpress.com) They sell speaker repair stuff. I know they have the glue for what you are doing, and they sell dust caps, and new surrounds, so they might have what you are looking for.
Unfortunately, I don't know the technical name for that part. I believe its actually meant to be a gasket, for if the speaker is loaded from the rear (home speakers sometimes do this.)

I'm kind of partial to Goop. Seems to stick just about anything to anything else. Walmart has it, as do others, I'm sure.
