turbo question

Default turbo question

im currently running a small 16g, but i was lookin at others and was wondering if an evo 3 turbo would be an exact replacement or would i need to purchase either new piping, maifold or both.. thanks for your help, matt

any 14b, 16g, or 20g should bolt right in if you already have one installed.

Different outlet on 20g ..I'm pretty sure the intercooler piping would change slightly.

I think the compressor outlet is the only difference though.

You may want to do some port work depending on the size of the exhaust housing inlets on the two turbos and your exhaust manifold outlet. Otherwise, everything is good to go.

Probably not worth the upgrade if you're not pushing the bleeding edge of performance on that small 16g. Cost might only be 200 dollars if you sell for 300 and buy for 500, but it's not a tremendous gain unless you're going to push it on race gas. If you want a bit more out of it for 200 dollars, I guess it could be worth it, I just wouldn't expect miracles.

Personally I agree, there isnt enough gain in performance for me to upgrade from a S16g to an E316g. But there are always personal preferences that sway decisions.

IMO, if you are tired of the S16g performance, Id be going 20g or some BB turbo pushing lots of air. Your options are endless.
