Sure you decrease the odds. But anything is possible in our sport.

So whats the lesson learned. Don't have a sweeper heading towards a light pole. Blame that one on the event organiser.

i think the arguement here is that a parking lot is just as dangerous as a oval... 360deg of wall.. or one light post.. no matter what obstacles are placed in the path of a quickly moving vehicle eventually the X factor is going to take over and something negative will happen. personally i think its all dangerous.. why do something if youre not ready to give it all up due to failure. most fail some prevail

Dangerous? Of course it is.
JUST as dangerous? Absolutely not.
With a parking lot you have MUCH MUCH more flexibility in your course design.
At an oval, you're always headed towards a wall...there's no course to move or change. No matter where you go, there's a wall wanting to pick a fight with you...and the wall always wins.
Not bashing, just arguing the claim that a parking lot is JUST as dangerous as an oval.
any motorsport has risk involved.
No doubt. There are injuries and deaths in any and all forms of motorsports.
However...eventhough there will always be risks, there will also be many ways to handle and at least minimize that risk. Be it venue choice, course setup, event format, etc.
There are always options.

look, whats the use in aruging??? ovals are great for EXSPERIENCED drivers, not beginers or the intermediate's. its been proven so many times before i don't have to even site examples. if your not that good then you will crash at an oval. but in either case, noone's holding a gun to anyone's head and making you drift on an oval. but all i gotta say is that if you crash and you post on here i will make fun of you. period.

i understand what u r all sayin, but i'm hearin all this talk that we need to go to parkin lots not ovals, all we have is ovals. i'm sorry that we can't please u this season w/ ovals, but by doing this we r hoping to get more parking lot's. yes i love drifting parking lot's i would rather drift parkin lot's, but please stop bitchin about the event's that we r having. if u don't want to be in the event than shut the hell up and stop beating a dead horse. i know it's tr and evreyone has to say something, but WTF.

Why is ovals being discussed here? The video was set in a parkinglot, the car was fucked up by driver error.
ANY track is dangerous.
Im sure that they didnt think that a car would travel out there and crashed it. The driver too never thought he would crash into a pole, thats why he didnt brake when he went off course.

^^^ alll hail this smart man.. 100% drivers fault.. that pole never moved.. same goes with the walls on an oval.stop blaming crap on tracks.. they dont change or move or wiggle or jump infront of you like an angry gorilla while your going 45mph.point blank
