cas timing help

my buddie has a mk3 and we put a new head gasket on it and im trying to find how to put the cas in ....is ther a notch or something to line up?.....

Make sure that the engine is at No. 1 cyl. TDC firing stroke. Then alighn the match marks on the CAS housing to the mark on the gear. Insure the slot for the timing adjustment is centered to the bolt hole before pushing in the sensor.
