I am thinking about buying a 95 240sx and it is auto, was just wondering which clutch type (cable or hydrolic) would be better to drift with cause I might be able to install the cable clutch, but the hydrolic clutch, forget about I'll let someone who knows what they are doning mess with that. But the cable would be easier to install but then again it might snap it happend to my friend. Just wondering.

I prefer the feel of cable, but it's probably not worth the conversion from hydro to cable. Auto to manual conversion isn't that hard - there are already templates on the firewall of auto cars for the clutch pedal and master cylinder.

+1
auto ->manual swap was pretty easy
just alot of prep work..get the firewall cut w/ a dremal the day before and you're set
clutch is hydraulic..that's why ya need to bleed it w/ DOT3 brake fluid..
as for a clutch cable line...idk how you would retro fit that..
factory provides a slave cyl that fits and does its job pretty nicely..
you would have to retrofit/fabricate a device that would stand in place of the slave
which seems a bit too much for something that already does a good job
lmk how much you are buying your s14 for..because the 5spd swap will set you back maybe $600-700 if you take your time
get alot of friends to help you out too..buy them a pizza when its all done
i bought my auto S14 back in Nov2004..paid 3800..i shoulda bargained down to 3500
hope its around that range..my car came w/ sunroof & spoiler + a few options
4k is the most you should spend on an automatic SE model..because the conversion will take up some funds..

the s14 I am looking at is going for no less than a thousand, I have no idea why it is so cheap, it might be the condition of the body but the body is not that bad a few primer spots and needs a new front and rear bumper, and I could do all the body work. The car only has like 100,000 on it.

do it yourself, it's very easy and not worth as much as someone will charge you. Just search for the info on any 240 forum.

check title and see if you can register it.
if it runs..and drive straight..then its a great bargain! make sure its not stolen though

The hardest part of the 5MT conversion is finding the clutch pedal and line. XAT makes their own lines and usually has a bunch of clutch pedals. After you have all the parts, it's just a matter of pulling the 4AT and driveshaft, drilling a hole, mounting the pedal, routing the line, mounting the 5MT and driveshaft and bleeding the clutch out.

drilling hole - 15min..it was cake
mounting pedal - 30min..a slightly annoying
routing line - no point in trying to make it fit all those damn clips..just ziptie it to the other hardlines
auto d/s - easy to remove
auto tranny - a/t fluid sucks..and torque convertor bolts are a PITA
m/t mounting was a bitch to align
bleeding clutch lines took forever because i didnt realize that when i let the pedal up...it sucked up air..making bubbles.. took a few minutes once i realized that
buy a complete kit..so you get the lines..
dont forget to ask for m/t bolts..flywheel bolts..and press. plate bolts
or else you will be making a nice trip to ace hardware..

dont forget a new pilot bushing. Also instead of using a dremel go to harbor freight and buy a mini air drill, drill bits, and a 1 3/8"(?) hole saw. You can do it in less than 4 hours easily. You also need a MT Tranny brace, MT flywheel bolts, an a couple of other things.
