First what are you connecting the second amp to? How much power does that amp produce? How many channels is that amp?

Things you could need...another power wire run or a larger gauge power wire. Another set or two of RCA cables. Possibly another fuse holder.

Sorry you need to provide more information to get a solid answer.

i got 2 300 watts max each rocksford subs hooked up to a little kenwood 800 watt 2 chan amp. i want to hook up another 800 watt amp so i can run each sub to it's own amp.

You will need to run either a new power wire for the second amp or a single larger gauge wire for both. Along with a proper ground line. You will need to get signal to the new amp also. If your other amp has a signal output on it you can use that. Or you can use a set of Y jacks and a short RCA cable. After that you hook up the speakers.

Your best bet is to run another set of power and ground wires. You can daisy chain the remote turn on lead from your current amp however.

i think imma run a second power wire from the battery. can i split the remote wire from the first amp to the second. and ill get another set of rca and run that from the first amp. and as for the ground, i'll jus find another ground in the trunk. does that sound like a stupid idea?

you need to ground to the same bolt.

okay ill do that. but does everything else sound okay.

Yup. That's what I meant by "daisy chaining".

how many items are you trying to turn on with your remote wire?

3 or more you should use a relay to supply enough current to fully turn on any device.

Next up grade to one large power wire, split off in rear to each amp... and
dont forget to add another large wire from battery - to ground .... i would also run a heavy groud wire from alternator bolt to ground.

im jus tryin to turn on two amps with the same remote wire.

so will there be any flaws in what imma attempt to do. and if i hook up two 8 guage wires to the battery will that make my battery die.

You Can Use Two 8 Guage Wires - Make Sure They Both Are Fused At Battery

Only if you run your system for an extended period of time with your car off. The majority of power is drawn from your alternator when your vehicle is running, hence why you should be pulling close to 14 volts when your car is running and only 12 volts when your car is off.....which is also why you want to try and always have your car running when you're bumping your system. The amps your running are smaller, and should have no impact on your vehicle's stock electrical system. If it did, however, a better battery (such as an optima red top) and high output alternator should be considered, along with upgrading the wiring between the alternator and battery.

sorry to bring up a dead topic but I need to find out if i can daisy chain just three amps? I really dont want to get a relay due to the fact that no stores are open on sunday and i dont want to wait until later otherwise i have to wait till next weekend to get this thing goin.
Even if you guys think i cant manage it, is it possible for me to try anyways with no dire complications or risk of permanent damage to the amps or headunit?

Should work fine. If it doesn't, then the amp(s) just won't turn on.

alright, thanks a ton for the response, now i think i'll just go out there and wire it up and pray for the best, if not i can always remove the daisy chain and wrap up the exposed wire with electrical tape... which is what i do to everything else anyways heh.

now to see whether i want to just install a spade terminal crimp to the end of the 2gauge or try my darndest to install the new battery terminal to the post.... =X

you can get a relay at any auto parts store- or radio shack! best buy - circuit city
you can burn out the remote turn on lead out of the deck if you pull to much power and i have seen amps not fully turn on with low remote power - or amps turn off first time bass hits from the voltage drop and remote voltage drop - Rule of thump 3 or more relay it!!!!

i'd relay it if someone told me exactly how to do it and which wires to use. I cant find anything that specifically tells me how to. all it describes is what it does...
