We ran Janien's cam in this morning @ about 7:45 (our neighbor's love us), we figured that was nicer than doing it last night when everything was ready @ midnight. Her car finally sounds right, the mystery cam has been retired  Now if it would just quit being a chevy and leaking a little oil where the timing cover, block, and oil pan come together I could put a final adjustment on the rockers and try to tune it. It sure sounds like she'll be having fun at track day Sunday.

That's my kind of alarm clock. My nieghbor, who I think is on TR, has a little import with a fart can that I hear at 1 am when he comes home. Our houses are only about 15 feet apart. When I take my Challenger to work on Sat.'s they get a little wake up.

Wait, you've got a small block Chevy leaking from the 3-way junction up front after putting a cam in? I thought I was the only one with that problem! You run it open header yet? You can't appreciate a good overlap and separation until you do.

And, for the white trash record, the neighbors called the cops on me last time I did that. The officer told me it wasn't illegal unto 11 PM, so I'd make sure to fire up the car around 10:50, in the garage, with the door open, every night.

Ugh, she called a little while ago to say she thinks she stripped a bolt on the carb changing the bowl gaskets.....................

Yeah the car sounds and feels awsome. I joked w/ Bill that I need to get my seats redone w/ more cushion now since you bounce in your seat  .

But yeah yesterday was a long day. I took a vacation day to finish the car and of course theres an oil leak from the timing cover. I put the cover on so it's my fault. But thats only because Bill got so frustrated w/ it I had to do it  . So we drain the oil, again, and he cleans it up real good and puts some more sealer on it and he goes to work. I give it a few hours, and start it up and now it is barely leaking from the bottom  . I jacked it up cleaned it again and loaded it w/ sealer. It's ugly, but better than pulling it apart again. So to pass time I adjust my front brakes and try to fix my carb leak. Well it's always leaked and was getting worse, but now I have a stripped out bottom bolt.

I was still left wondering if the timing cover would seal now and started it up anyway to pull it in the garage. I checked everything and it looks good so far :D . But now I have to try a bigger bolt for the carb and fix my water leak. Yeah things you don't even touch (goose neck) when you pull something apart, just start leaking lol. Like I have nothing else to do

Funny conversation this morning on the phone

"So what do I need to do to get this new bolt started?"

"YOU don't need to do a damn thing"

Women!!!

Don't feel bad, mine's the same way...

[her] honey, do like these floors?

[me] not really

2 days later

[me] What the fuck? Who ripped out my fucking floor?

[her] you said you didn't like them.

[me] Not liking them and ripping them out are NOT the same thing. Whose going to put the new floor in?

[her] I figured you would.

Aagh!
