Default mkiv help

Im looking to buy a mkiv shell, or one with a blown engine or something... Im wondering, how much should I expect to pay? I don't want to get ripped off

Any help appreciated... also any idea where I can get something like this? I'm in the Spring Hill/Tampa area. Any yards or anything? thanks,

Mike

Since the dawn of the F&F you and every other kid old enough to drive has been dreaming of a supra in a junk yard. Your chances of getting a shell "cheap" are only a dream. Guys live to buy these cars before they can get to you so they can keep the market for mkiv's inflated. And I am not kidding, there are guys that fly cross country weekly for the next supra steal at a killer price. I would say for a good condition TT shell look toward 8k + with everything in it blown motor as you say, I would say around 12k. I am sure someone on here is more knowledge on this subject then me, but that is my guess and it won't be cheap.

You are very correct. You will never find a MKIV "shell" in a junkyard. Turbo Toys in Tampa rebuilds alot of salvage title MKIV that he resells for $20K and up, but they will have a salvage title forever. They last MKIV I saw that had no motor and had minor accident damage, they were asking $10k for I believe.
If you really want a MKIV project and can't afford a TT look for a high milage NA automatic. They can be had for around $10-$12K if you find an old lady that has had one forever. There are a few around.

If money isn't a problem just get a heavily modified 6 speed TT, you can pick them up all over the place for about $50K.
As for finding out who has them. Try going to the Toyota dealership. Most people who own Supras that don't work on them themselves will take them to dealerships. Ask the service advisors if they know of anyone that may be interested in selling or to keep there eyes out and leave them a business card. FYI there are 3 non-turbo cars for sale in the area right now, just check the autotrader. $15-17K.
What's wrong with F&F, it's my favorite movie of all time... (F&F-2 is my second fav)

www.supraforums.com they have absolutely 10000000000 supras for sale all the time. put something up in the WTB, or just browse the for sale. you can find pretty much whatever you want right away, or wait long enough and the "steal" will come around.

You will find alot for sale but never any "Steals". Supraforums is trolled by literally hundreds of people doing just that. As soon as a car comes up for a decent price it is gone. Seriously check Autotrader. Here are 3 I found within 25 miles.
$17000
$16000 with Rebuilt Title
$15000

Exactly wut kbprice said.. people pick them up before you even have a chance. Jim at turbo toys hasn't had a parts car in over a year..

Either its beat down and needs more work/money than its worth to buy a moderate mileage cleaner car, or its just too damned expensive, youre not going to stop hearing that, and all of us that have bought the cars wont stop reminding you. There have been a few deals out there, but you have to be ON top of it to hit it... you wont find it any other way... keep youre eyes open however, in the next 8-9 months something may pop up for you...
