Diffrent platform , the next camaro will use a lighter , cheaper to build , modified version of the GTO platform...

:nono: The guy that wrote the article was right. Everyone complains we never get the cool cars over here so they bring a cool car over but nobody bought it. It was too expensive, too bland, and marketed poorly (ala F-body). Plus they bring it over in the height of the SUV stupidness. Part poor execution, part bad luck. I'm wondering if GM is re-thinking the F-body after taking a bath on the GTO.

smart thing would be if you are rich buy one or try and get the last one and put it up for 40 years or so then barret jackson car auction.the last gto ever made with like 50 miles on it would bring some big $$$$$ in 40 years.

It was only gonna be a 3yr production run anyway, they thought they would be able to change the contract with the UAW, but couldnt. But yeah they shot themselves in the foot every model year, the only thing is that the 05s are almost all gone, I think only like 1000 left country wide, thats not to bad considering the 06 came out 3 months ago. And it wont be coming back, expect pontiac or buick (I hope) to have something on the same platform a yr or 2 later. This car had the curse of the impala SS all over it:lol:

Then make it such a pain in the butt to change the motors or do conversions. Makes you think that George Bush is running GM. GRRRRRRR

Its the bean counters at GM. It died for the reasons you said and it was lacking a lot in the styling. If it didnt look like a Grand Prix, it might have sold better.

I think Id rather have my 91Z I sold instead of my SS. The build quality was sooo much better and I LOVE the 91-92 Zs.

I love the way the 3rd gen looks better then the 4th gen. Plus I can change my spark plugs in one day. lol. Anyways it sucks about the GTO. I always liked them. LSx, 6speed, IRS and four seats. It's like a corvette for the family man. Adam :-)
