another issue....when i sent the block in he removed the oil gallery plugs. im having trouble finding new ones (DAN MOPARO if you have a part number for these that would be awsome) also im not sure which of the 20something holes they go into.

I have short term memory loss. What year and size motor? The 98 2.0L non-turbo show only 2 oil plugs in the block. I would think there should be more. The part number is 4556018 or 4556018AB. I don't have any to look at, but I think they are a pretty small diameter. One of the older 2.2l/2.5l catalogs show it to be 5/8" diameter.

Is any of the holes threaded?

if I remember correctly there are 2 threaded plugs in the back of the head, each of them is 1/4" NPT(I actually used to use one to feed my turbo) and then there are the standard freeze plugs at the end of the head, dont remember how many though...I never actually replaced mine(I only replaced the ones in the block and forgot the ones in the head) but 5/8" sounds about right for the press in type ones...maybe a little bit smaller

just go to the dealer and ask for freeze plugs for the model/year and they should pull them out for you, they always have a ton in stock it seems

#16 is clear cut, says it's a oil galley plug but a quanity of 2 total. I'm assuming its at the other end of the block opposite #16. 4 and 5 are threaded plugs. 3,6 and 11 are dowels. 10 of course is your freeze plugs.

and this is the oiling system. Damn I can't spell tonight for shit.

well, I just went and looked at my head(its 98 DOHC neon head, not the head in my car...but I have it sitting on a bench right now) the 2 plugs at the end of the head(on the tranny side of the engine) are threaded as are the two on the back of the head, although some some reason that diagram only shows one going to the back of the head, there are 2...both oil, now the 2 on the timing belt side of the head are not threaded and are freeze plugs, now as far as oil gallery plugs for the block...there are none, there are however 4(I think) freeze plugs for the water jacket

p.s. i did look at my old 2.4L block and there is 1 oil gallery plug for the block(the other end of the oil galley leads to the oil pump) as well, it looks to be slightly bigger than the ones on the head
