I agree... =[ Circuit city people are jerks.
heh, expensive as heck too, i got a "free installation" but then they came up with all of these random fees out of their asses, apparently labor costs 100 bucks, and the "installation" costs like 20 bucks... isnt INSTALLING the PROCESS OF LABOR!? =\.
Yes i didnt know THEN how to install speakers, i installed my own stuff from then on... sheesh who wouldnt after paying 130 bucks to install 4 speakers and a new head unit :nerd:.

$130 aint too bad. I charge 25 for fronts, 15 for rears, and 25 for the deck so thats like $65 for just the labor. But I do agree that their "free" installation shouldnt have so many conditions and BS restrictions.

bestbuys free installations are a joke ive been there just to buy a kit for a ford focus cuz we didnt have any in stock. they had a big list of bullshit parts that wernt even installed that they charged a guy for kinda funny but they do make bank ass money. also i knew a guy there that was making top pay like managing the audio department he said they hire like unskilled guys to do the work and then pay them crappy lol i mean them being a big corperation such as that gives them the money to be able to do that kinda stuff lol .... but yeah ive never seen a top quality install form bestbuy
NoTLaDStyle is like a really uber audio dude has alot of knowlege in electronics and all the technical aspecs of the stereo not just the installation. if he lived closer to me hed be doing mine lol but since its to far i have to make do. these other guys are cool as well but i dont know them so i can only go by what i know :) but im sure theres lots of talent in here for you to choose from and all would do a good job. good luck with your stereo.

recently departed from the bb install dept - i can tell you that the free install only applies to radios priced over 99.00, labor is free.... but, you must pay for shop material fees.. $5.00 and of course parts, dash kit 18.49, wire harness 18.49, antenna adapter , 12.49 .ect... they do not make any money on the free deck installs but.... parts whey clean up on (cost on dash kits & wire harnewss is 3.50) ... there amp wire kits in my opion are very expensive... and they will typically sell you the $99.00 only
speaker install $37.99 a pair
2 channel amp $64.99
4 channel amp $74.99
get this - screw subs in a box $12.00 each
sat radio hard wire - $59.00
deck install $ 49.00
remeber you also have to pay the $5.00 shop material fee each time you have something done

They make crazy money on the dash kits. Those amp wire kits are pretty expensive, walmart kits are just about the same thing for like $25 !! of course never use walmart RCAs. But I know stinger RCAs have crazy markup too because I buy those for $6 for the 17ft and they are 29.99 retail.
I had to  @ $12.00 to screw a sub in and the BS $5 charger for parts.

cc free install on cd players is a basic instal, if you need a rewire or any special parts (ie a gm or somthing) they do not give you that... the fee's are your dash kit and wiring harness, which you need no matter who does it.... but i do agree the prices for alot of other things is a little high

cc's pricing is this.
speakers-35 a pair
head unit (not free install)-50 bucks
cd changer, satalite radio-72 bucks
sub amp-61
4 ch amp-71
now here is the kicker...... screwing subs in a box, 15 EACH.
flip up tv w/o navagation like 150
flip up with navagation- out of this world ( i think a little over 200)
over head is 150 (sometimes we do free install on those though, which is a good deal IMO
thats all i can think of. there crazy prices but come check out how full that install bay gets lol..

Yeah the bays are full, at least half my customers are from fishing from CC & BB. Its like taking candy from a baby, except its customers from overpriced retail giants.

yeah, i wish i could fish and get my own installs. I could do it alot cheaper  I dont need to make a fortune, just feed me and my gf haha .i just do it for a little extra cash
well i mean the price was pretty steep but not super expensive, the point i was trying to mainly get across was the fact that it was labelled as a "free install" when it still had all these rediculous fees. i spent more on the install of everything than on my front two speakers =[... cheap shits.. i need new ones i guess =\

You're going to pay about the same amount anywhere you go. And keep in mind, nothing in this world is "free."

I dont mark anything up but I'm not in palm harbor much so you either have to pay shipping or wait till i can go pick em up which could be a week or so. (i live in zephyrhills)

as of now I keep myself busy freelancing. I usually dont get the exotic jobs, usually just a set of subs and a 4channel. I'm also persuing a degree in electrical engineering. within the next semester or two I should be able to build my own amplifier. Then you guys will really be in trouble.

If you are interested in a possible part time gig doing the exotic stuff drop me a PM. Fabrication work is all I do.
